Product Overview

The LEA Professional CS164D is a 4-channel, 640W Class-D commercial-grade rack-mount amplifier with integrated Dante networking, onboard DSP, and IoT-enabled remote management via the LEA Cloud platform. Delivering 160W per channel, the CS164D supports both Low-Z (2, 4, and 8 ohm) and Hi-Z (70V or 100V) distributed audio operation independently per channel, making it well-suited to small and medium commercial AV installations that require Dante connectivity alongside flexible speaker load configuration. As part of LEA Professional's ConnectSeries — the first IoT-enabled professional amplifier series — the CS164D is managed through any standard web browser without proprietary control hardware.

Product Description

The CS164D is built on LEA's proprietary Smart Power Bridge Technology, enabling bridged mono output without permanently removing a channel from service. Each of the four channels independently selects Low-Z (2, 4, or 8 ohm) or Hi-Z (70V or 100V) operation, allowing a single CS164D to simultaneously drive direct-impedance loudspeakers and distributed ceiling speaker circuits from the same unit. Signal processing is handled by an Analog Devices Sigma 96kHz DSP with a 32-bit core, providing EQ, crossovers, delay, limiting, and audio routing.

Network audio is delivered via dual Dante ports (primary and secondary) supporting AES67, enabling interoperability with other AES67-compatible devices. Control and monitoring connect over a 100 Mbps Ethernet port or via the built-in Wi-Fi in access-point or client modes. The LEA Cloud platform provides remote firmware updates, real-time monitoring, and configuration from any internet-connected browser. Balanced analog inputs connect via Amphenol Anytek 3-pin connectors. Power is supplied by a universal SMPS (100–240 VAC) and the unit cools via front-to-rear variable-speed fans, fitting standard 1U, 19-inch rack enclosures. At 12.25 lbs and 14.25 inches depth, it integrates cleanly into multi-amplifier rack builds alongside other ConnectSeries units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between the CS164 and the CS164D?

The CS164 uses 100 Mbps Ethernet and built-in Wi-Fi for control and accepts analog audio inputs only. The CS164D adds dual Dante ports for networked digital audio transport and supports AES67 interoperability. If your installation involves Dante-based audio routing from a DSP, media server, or other Dante device, the CS164D is the correct model. If you are using analog sources and do not need Dante, the CS164 offers the same output and DSP at a lower price.

Q: Does the CS164D support AES67?

Yes. The CS164D supports AES67 via its Dante ports, allowing it to interoperate with other AES67-compatible devices from manufacturers outside the Dante ecosystem. AES67 mode is configured in Dante Controller.

Q: Can the CS164D run one channel at 70V and another at 8 ohm simultaneously?

Yes. Each of the four channels independently selects Hi-Z (70V or 100V) or Low-Z (2, 4, or 8 ohm) operation. A single CS164D can power a 70V ceiling speaker zone on one or more channels while simultaneously driving direct-impedance loudspeakers on the remaining channels.

Q: How does remote management work with the CS164D?

The CS164D registers with the LEA Cloud platform and can be monitored and configured from any internet-connected browser without on-site access or a VPN. Parameters including gain, EQ, routing, and signal delay can be adjusted remotely. Firmware updates are also delivered over the cloud. Local browser-based control is available on the same network without cloud connectivity if preferred.

Q: What input connectors does the CS164D use for analog sources?

The CS164D uses Amphenol Anytek balanced 3-pin connectors for all four analog inputs. The LEA Professional XLRF adapter (female XLR to Amphenol Anytek) and RCAF-2 adapter (female RCA to Amphenol Anytek, 2-pack) are available separately to connect standard XLR or RCA sources.
