The Control 418C/T is engineered for commercial spaces that need stronger output and wide, consistent coverage than a basic background-music driver provides. Its 8-inch treated-paper woofer with a copper-clad aluminum voice coil pairs with a coaxial 1-inch neodymium soft-dome tweeter for a wide 57 Hz–20 kHz frequency range and pleasant, enveloping sound throughout the listening area. As a 70V/100V ceiling speaker, it includes a 60 W multi-tap transformer for distributed lines plus an 8-ohm direct setting for low-impedance, direct-drive configurations, and handles 135 W continuous pink noise (540 W peak). The integrated enclosure is suitable for most plenum spaces and is listed for air-handling use per UL 2043, NFPA 90A and NFPA 70, and CSA C22.2 no. 205, with UL 1480A listing and a UL-registered transformer.
