Crestron DM-NVX-D30 – DM NVX 4K60 4:4:4 HDR Network AV Decoder

Crestron DM-NVX-D30 4K60 4:4:4 HDR AV-over-IP decoder dedicated display endpoint

Product Overview

The Crestron DM-NVX-D30 is a dedicated 4K60 4:4:4 HDR AV-over-IP decoder — a receive-only endpoint that accepts any DM NVX encoded stream from the network and outputs it as 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI to a display, with HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support, enterprise-grade security, AES67 audio, RS-232/IR/CEC device control, and PoE+ single-cable power. It is the most widely deployed DM NVX display-end endpoint in enterprise AV-over-IP systems, delivering 4K60 4:4:4 with Dolby Vision to any network-connected display regardless of distance from the source.

Product Description

In a DM NVX AV-over-IP system, the DM-NVX-D30 sits at every display location and receives whatever video stream DM NVX Director routes to it — conference room display, digital signage screen, classroom projector, video wall tile, or monitoring position. Because routing is software-defined by DM NVX Director, any decoder can receive any encoder’s stream on demand, replacing the fixed-output limitations of traditional matrix switchers with unlimited-scale software routing. Stream type is selectable: Pixel Perfect Processing (default) for full 4K60 4:4:4 interoperability with DM NVX encoders, or DM-NVX-E10/E20 Series for lower-resolution encoder compatibility.

The HDMI output delivers HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision — the same broad HDR format support as the DM-NVX-E30 encoder — for premium display environments. AES67 audio at 24-bit 48kHz transmits and receives network audio alongside the decoded video stream. The analog audio port is configurable as output — de-embed stereo audio from the decoded HDMI stream to feed a local sound system or sound bar, with volume adjustable −80 to +20 dB. RS-232, IR, and CEC device control extend from the control system to the display and local devices at the decoder position, eliminating the need for separate control wiring runs. Pixel Perfect Processing delivers less than one frame of end-to-end latency. At 16W typical power consumption and H: 5.41 in. chassis height, the D30 is purpose-sized for under-display, under-table, and ceiling-mounted decoder installations. The card version (DM-NVX-D30C) with Cresnet installs in the DMF-CI-8 chassis for high-density decoder arrays.

Key Features

  • Dedicated 4K60 4:4:4 HDR Decoder: Receive-only endpoint for permanently fixed display positions — outputs 4K60 4:4:4 HDR HDMI to any display.
  • HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision Output: Full HDR format support for premium display environments — broadest HDR coverage in the DM NVX dedicated decoder line.
  • Pixel Perfect Processing: Less than 1 frame end-to-end latency — real-time video for conferencing, live camera, and interactive applications.
  • Software-Routed via DM NVX Director: Receives any encoder stream routed by DM NVX Director — any source to any display, no matrix switcher chassis limits.
  • HDCP 2.3, AES-128/PKI: Enterprise copy protection and content encryption.
  • 802.1X, Active Directory, TLS, SSH, HTTPS: Enterprise IT security compliance.
  • AES67 Audio (24-bit 48kHz): Transmit and receive alongside the decoded video stream for Dante/AES67 audio network integration at the decoder position.
  • Analog Audio Output: Configurable stereo output (5-pin 3.5mm); volume −80 to +20 dB; de-embeds audio from HDMI stream to local sound system.
  • 7.1 Surround Sound: Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD, DTS:X, linear PCM lossless pass-through to HDMI output.
  • RS-232, IR, and CEC Device Control: 2-way RS-232 up to 115.2k baud; IR up to 1.1 MHz — extends control to display and room devices at decoder position.
  • PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, 25.5W): Single-cable power from any compliant switch — 16W typical consumption.
  • Compact Chassis: H: 5.41 in. (138mm) — fits under displays, under tables, and in ceiling mounts.
  • Copper and Fiber Ethernet: RJ45 1GbE + optional SFP fiber (sold separately).
  • Card Version: DM-NVX-D30C (with Cresnet) for DMF-CI-8 chassis.

Typical Applications

  • Enterprise conference room display decoder — receives any DM NVX source routed by Director to the room’s display on demand
  • Digital signage display decoder receiving scheduled content from a centralized NVX encoder pool
  • University classroom projector and display decoder in campus-wide DM NVX AV-over-IP distribution
  • Video wall tile decoder in 8×8 (64-display) video wall configurations with per-tile DM NVX endpoints
  • Hotel and hospitality display decoder for property-wide 4K60 4:4:4 IPTV and AV distribution
  • Government and federal facility briefing room decoder requiring Dolby Vision HDR output and AES-128 security

Frequently Asked Questions

What stream type should be set on encoders to be compatible with DM-NVX-D30?
The DM-NVX-D30 decodes Pixel Perfect Processing streams (from DM-NVX-360/363/E30 encoders in default mode) and DM-NVX-E10/E20 Series streams. For interoperability, ensure the encoder’s stream type matches one of these decoder-supported types. Contact Creation Networks for stream compatibility guidance.

Does the D30 support Dolby Vision at the HDMI output?
Yes — the DM-NVX-D30 supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision at the HDMI output, matching the HDR format support of the DM-NVX-E30 encoder. Both the encoder and display must support the HDR format for it to be rendered correctly.

What is the warranty?
Crestron provides a standard 3-year limited warranty. Contact Creation Networks.
