Product Overview
The Atlas Sound 324-12 is a 24RU wall mount equipment rack cabinet that puts a full-height enclosure on the wall instead of the floor, freeing valuable floor space in IT closets, AV head-end rooms, and telecom spaces. Its three-section welded design — solid-steel front door, 12" deep center section with adjustable 10-32 rack rails, and hinged rear door — gives technicians front and rear access to installed network and AV equipment. Built from 16-gauge cold-rolled steel with a #962 black epoxy finish, it is engineered for permanent commercial deployment where mounted gear must stay secure, ventilated, and serviceable.
Product Description

For commercial AV integrators and facilities managers planning a network rack installation, the 324-12 belongs to the AtlasIED 300 Series of welded wall cabinets. The basic construction includes a 2" deep solid-steel front door, a 12" deep center mounting section, and a 4-1/2" deep rear door, all in 16-gauge CRS. Adjustable front rack rails are tapped 10-32 at standard EIA 1/2" spacing, and this 24RU model includes center-section mounting rail supports for added equipment stability. Internal open raceways provide cable pathways through the enclosure, and corner brace supports on the rear section include 1-1/4" diameter wire access holes for harnessing excess cable — practical structured cabling integration details that keep service calls short.
Field flexibility is built in. The back face of the rear section carries 1/4" deep boss detents on 12" centers (six on this 24RU model), allowing contractors to install a custom plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate for mounting accessories inside the cabinet. Twenty conduit knockouts are arranged at the top and bottom of the back panel and on the top and bottom flanges, with standard 1" and concentric 1/2"/3/4" sizes to match common commercial conduit runs. Perforated vents on both sides of the center section provide passive heat dissipation for rack-mounted electronics. Structurally, frame flanges, plug-welded center-section panels, corner braces, and electric-welded seams and miters resist sagging under load, while an 11-gauge center-section guide plate distributes cabinet and equipment weight to the rear section and guides alignment pins for proper closing. An optional CT31A heavy-duty caster is available to support the loaded center section during service. Pair the 324-12 with amplifiers and signal processing from our AtlasIED collection for a complete equipment room build-out.
Key Features
- 24RU Wall Mount Capacity — A full 24 rack units of EIA-standard mounting space goes on the wall, saving floor space in equipment rooms and IT closets.
- Three-Section Welded Design — Solid-steel front door, 12" deep center section, and hinged rear door give technicians front and rear equipment access.
- Adjustable 10-32 Rack Rails — Front rails tapped 10-32 at standard EIA 1/2" spacing adjust in depth to fit mixed AV and network hardware.
- Integrated Cable Management — Internal open raceways and 1-1/4" wire access holes in the corner braces keep structured cabling organized and serviceable.
- 20 Conduit Knockouts — Standard 1" and concentric 1/2"/3/4" knockouts on the back panel and flanges simplify commercial conduit integration.
- Passive Ventilation — Perforated vents on both sides of the center section dissipate heat from rack-mounted electronics without fans.
- Reinforced Structure — Frame flanges, corner braces, electric-welded seams, and an 11-gauge guide plate prevent sagging and ensure proper door alignment under load.
- Contractor Sub-Plate Provisions — Boss detents on 12" centers let installers add a plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate for mounting accessories inside the cabinet.
- 5-Year Warranty — AtlasIED covers the 324-12 for 60 months from date of purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will standard 19" rack equipment fit the 324-12?
Yes. The adjustable rails are manufactured to standard EIA 1/2" spacing and tapped 10-32, so any standard 19" rackmount AV or network equipment mounts directly.
How deep is the usable mounting space?
The center mounting section is 12" deep, with total cabinet depth of 18-1/2" including the front and rear doors. It suits amplifiers, network switches, patch panels, and similar commercial gear within that depth.
Does it require active cooling?
The cabinet uses perforated vents on both sides of the center section for passive heat dissipation. For dense, high-heat loads, plan equipment placement to maintain airflow.
Can I bring conduit directly into the cabinet?
Yes. Twenty knockouts in 1" standard and 1/2"/3/4" concentric sizes are positioned on the back panel and the top and bottom flanges for clean conduit terminations.
Is there support for servicing a fully loaded rack?
The hinged three-section design swings open for rear access, and the optional AtlasIED CT31A heavy-duty caster can carry the weight of the loaded center section during service.
What warranty applies?
AtlasIED warrants the 324-12 for 60 months from date of purchase, and Creation Networks supports you through any warranty claim.
