Product Overview

Three designators, one job: CS-DESKMI-NR-K9--= is a no-radio, customized-model Cisco Desk Mini supplied as a spare service unit. It exists so a restricted estate running an agreed no-radio Desk Mini build can replace a failed position with hardware documented exactly like the unit it succeeds, without triggering a new site assessment. Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, describes -- SKUs as a Customized Model and labels = SKUs as SPARE. The platform is end-of-sale, with end-of-sale on July 13, 2026 and a last ship date of October 14, 2026, so the window to stock new units is closing while support runs to July 31, 2031.

Product Description

Restricted sites have the least room to improvise when an endpoint fails, because the substitute has to match the assessed configuration and cannot simply be bought locally. That is the whole argument for stocking this part number ahead of need rather than reacting to a failure.

With the radio absent the single 10/100/1000 RJ-45 port is the only network path, which suits a facility that wanted no wireless in the room to begin with. Everything wired is unaffected: USB-C carries display extension at 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps, touch redirect on supported operating systems and camera, microphone and speaker passthrough to any software client, and the loudspeaker and three-element microphone system perform as published. Headsets should be wired USB at the type-A port, since Bluetooth pairing is not available.

Note the physical constraints when the replacement arrives: Cisco publishes no mounting accessory for the Desk Mini, and there is no HDMI input and no video output of any kind, so the desk surface and the USB-C cable define the installation. Power is 60 W maximum from an external supply with 7.5 W networked standby. For migration planning across restricted desks and rooms, see the small room collaboration and video conference systems ranges of the Cisco collaboration portfolio.

Key Features

  • Three designators, one purpose — NR removes the wireless radio, -- marks Cisco's Customized Model and = marks a spare service unit, together identifying a like-for-like replacement for an accredited customized fleet.
  • No wireless radio fitted — Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, so the unit is wired-only and suits RF-restricted and accredited spaces.
  • Wired-only network path — The single 10/100/1000 RJ-45 port is the only connection once the radio is removed, which matches what a restricted site normally requires.
  • Integrated carry handle — Cisco states the Desk Mini is designed with an integrated handle that makes it easy to move from one room to another, so a single unit can serve several temporary or shared workspaces.
  • Single-cable USB-C docking — One USB-C cable extends the laptop display at 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps where the computer supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, forwards touch on supported operating systems, and shares the camera, microphone and speakers with any software client.
  • Three-element microphone system — Cisco specifies a premium 3-element microphone system for angle estimation and speech pickup, with acoustic echo cancellation, de-reverberation, noise removal and an optimize-for-my-voice mode.
  • 15.6-inch touch display on a fixed tilt — A 15.6-inch IPS 1080p projected capacitive multi-touch panel sits at an 11-degree fixed tilt with a 20 cm display height, keeping the camera at a usable eye line on a small desk.
  • Defined support runway — Cisco publishes end of software maintenance on July 13, 2028 and last date of support, including cloud support, on July 31, 2031, which lets a buyer weigh remaining useful life against the cost of migrating now.

Typical Applications

  • Government space — accredited facilities keeping break-fix stock matched to the assessed no-radio build.
  • Commercial meeting space — regulated estates operating a no-wireless portable endpoint standard.
  • Training room — restricted instruction positions needing rapid like-for-like replacement.
