The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 8K is more than a converter — it's an advanced 8K monitoring solution. Four 12G-SDI inputs handle 4K signals independently or gang together for a DCI 8K or 8K (quad-UHD) input, with output on four SDI or four HDMI connectors. A built-in LCD with on-screen scopes, HDR support, 33-point 3D LUTs, and third-party probe calibration make it a precise SDI-to-HDMI 8K monitoring converter for broadcast and film workflows.
Product Description
The Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 8K accepts quad-link 12G-SDI (with loop outputs) and supports all HD, Ultra HD, and 8K standards, automatically converting between 2SI and square division so an 8K source displays correctly. 8K output is available on the four SDI outputs or the four HDMI outputs for monitors with quad HDMI inputs; a built-in down-converter lets you view an 8K input on a UHD or HD monitor. It supports HDR workflows including PQ and HLG, covers Rec. 2020 and Rec. 709 plus 100% of DCI-P3, and handles Level A or B 3G-SDI plus YUV and RGB. The front panel features a 2.2" LCD for confidence monitoring with audio meters (switchable VU or PPM) and two on-screen scopes selectable between WFM, Parade, Vector, and Histogram, navigated via a rotating knob and six buttons. Two independent 33-point 3D LUTs can be loaded and switched from the front panel using standard file formats (such as those from DaVinci Resolve), and connected displays can be calibrated with third-party USB probes like the SpectraCal C6, X-Rite i1 Display Pro, or Klein K10-A, connected via the front USB-C port. HDMI instant lock keeps the display locked if the input is interrupted.
