The Avid NEXIS | FS (File System) is the core management layer for all NEXIS storage systems. The FS Advanced License provides the full feature set for enterprise and broadcast facility deployments, including advanced bandwidth management, workspace lifecycle controls, real-time system monitoring, and API integration with Avid's broader ecosystem. The FS software runs on the Avid NEXIS | SDA or SDA+ System Director Appliance, which serves as the management head for all connected NEXIS engines.

The FS Advanced License enables centralized management of multiple NEXIS engines—including mixed F-Series and E-Series configurations—from a single SDA or SDA+ appliance. Workspace policies, user access, and bandwidth allocations can be configured per user, per workspace, and per client across all engines in the NEXIS fabric. The FS license is included with all NEXIS engine bundles; this standalone license is for facilities adding FS management capability separately or renewing outside of a hardware bundle.
