The Atlas Sound SE175-4 is an 8-inch surface mount square enclosure designed for commercial in-ceiling audio installations where recessed mounting is not possible or desired. Constructed from welded cold-rolled steel with a textured white epoxy finish, the SE175-4 accommodates a wide range of AtlasIED square baffles with both torsion-spring and screw-mount attachment systems. Listed to UL 1480 and UL 2043, this enclosure meets code requirements for general signaling and plenum ceiling environments.
Product Description
The SE175-4 enclosure provides a surface-mounted alternative for installers working in spaces where a flush recessed installation is not achievable — including concrete ceilings, decorative ceiling surfaces, or shallow ceiling cavities. The welded CRS construction and undercoated interior minimize mechanical and acoustical resonance, which would otherwise degrade speaker performance at bass frequencies. The 4-inch depth provides sufficient internal volume for commercial-grade 8-inch speakers to operate within their designed acoustic parameters. The textured white epoxy finish integrates cleanly with standard commercial ceilings and is durable enough for high-traffic facilities. The enclosure is designed to accept the full range of Atlas Sound square baffles in both torsion-spring and screw-mount configurations, giving installers flexibility to specify baffles appropriate to the security and access needs of each project. The 11-5/8-inch height accommodates standard square baffle profiles, and the UL listings confirm compliance for both life-safety signaling and return air plenum installations.
