The Atlas Sound M2000-SM is a two-part surface-mount sound masking transducer that uses NXT Exciter Technology to deliver masking sound through flat surfaces including windows, walls, doors, and ductwork. Unlike traditional cone speakers, the M2000-SM turns any suitable flat surface into a sound radiating element, making it ideal for discreet security-oriented masking deployments where conventional speaker mounting is not practical. The 70.7V transformer is remote-mountable and independently adjustable via variable tap settings. Requires a compatible sound masking generator and 70.7V amplifier (sold separately).

Product Description

The M2000-SM consists of two components: a compact 1-inch coil-mounted NXT exciter plate (2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches square) and a separate transformer module (2 x 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches) that can be remote-mounted at a convenient location. The exciter attaches directly to a flat surface—glass, drywall, metal ductwork, or hollow-core doors—using the 117-inch (3m) cable between the exciter and transformer. When energized, the exciter induces vibrations in the surface material itself, which then radiates the masking signal into the space. This approach provides a very discreet installation footprint, as the exciter plate is small and the transformer can be completely hidden above ceiling or behind a wall panel. Wattage taps at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts allow the masking level to be adjusted from the transformer’s tap selector, enabling independent zone control. The M2000-SM is appropriate for conference rooms, private offices, reception areas, and any application where speech privacy is required but visible speaker hardware is undesirable. Note: A sound masking generator and 70.7V amplifier are required for operation and are sold separately.
