Product Overview

The AtlasIED IP-DDS is a PoE+ powered, dual sided IP LCD display endpoint with integrated speakers and an LED flasher, built for mass notification and VoIP paging deployments in schools, government facilities, and corporate campuses. As a network-attached IP display endpoint, it pairs visual text alerts with audio broadcast so messages reach occupants in high ambient noise areas and large open spaces. It registers directly with InformaCast, SA-Announce, and GCK notification platforms, making it a straightforward addition to an existing IP paging system. For integrators planning a campus-wide emergency communication system, the IP-DDS covers both audible and visible alerting from a single ceiling-mounted device.

Product Description

AtlasIED IP-DDS PoE+ dual sided IP LCD endpoint with speakers and LED flasher

The IP-DDS belongs to the AtlasIED IPX Series of network endpoints and functions as an indoor dual sided display with time, scrolling text, speakers, and a high-visibility LED flasher. Because both faces carry an LCD display, a single unit mounted in a corridor or commons area communicates in two directions, reducing the device count in hallway intercom and bell schedule installations. The endpoint registers as a native communication device within InformaCast, SA-Announce, and GCK, supporting advanced alerting, bell schedules, pre-recorded scheduled announcements, and intercom over the existing WAN/LAN architecture. In Cisco environments, the IP-DDS joins Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) as a supported device, preserving local call processing and paging when the WAN connection to Cisco Unified Communications Manager is interrupted. Audio can play through the integrated speakers, or a line level output can feed AtlasIED AA, PA, DPA, or CP series amplifiers to drive larger 25V, 70.7V, or 100V distributed speaker zones. Two GPI inputs, one GPI output, and a microphone input support talkback, listen-in, and triggering of third-party systems for critical alert workflows. The combined audio, text, and flasher output also helps state and local government facilities meet ADA Title II effective communication requirements. Power arrives over a single network cable from a PoE+ switch, or from a local 12-18VDC supply, which keeps installation labor low across a multi-building VoIP paging deployment. Key Features

  • Dual Sided LCD Display — Two network-controlled, high-visibility LCD faces deliver time and scrolling text alerts in both directions from one mounting point.
  • Integrated Speakers and LED Flasher — Combines audio broadcast with a visual flasher so notifications are effective in loud spaces and support ADA Title II communication goals.
  • PoE+ Powered — Operates from an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch over standard 10/100Base-T Ethernet, with an optional local 12-18VDC external supply.
  • Native Notification Platform Registration — Registers directly within InformaCast, SA-Announce, and GCK using SLP, DHCP Option 72, or IEDNet+ auto registration.
  • Cisco SRST Compliant — Maintains local paging and call processing at remote sites during a WAN outage in Cisco Unified Communications deployments.
  • Line Level Audio Output — Feeds AtlasIED AA, PA, DPA, or CP series amplifiers to extend announcements to 25V, 70.7V, or 100V speaker zones.
  • GPI/O and Microphone Input — Two GPI inputs, one GPI output, and a mic input enable talkback, listen, and third-party system triggering.
  • Auto Provisioning — Dynamic or static IP addressing with HTTP GUI configuration shortens commissioning time on large rollouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mass notification platforms does the IP-DDS work with?

The IP-DDS registers as a native communication endpoint within InformaCast (Singlewire), SA-Announce (Syn-Apps), and GCK advanced notification applications, supporting both text and audio broadcast.

Does the IP-DDS work in a Cisco environment?

Yes. It is Cisco SRST compliant, so it can join Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony architecture and keep local paging operational if the WAN link to Cisco Unified Communications Manager goes down.

How is the IP-DDS powered?

It powers over a single Ethernet run from an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ compliant switch, or from an optional local 12-18VDC external power supply.

Can it drive additional speakers in larger spaces?

Yes. A line level audio output feeds AtlasIED AA, PA, DPA, or CP series amplifiers, which can power large zones of 25V, 70.7V, or 100V distributed speakers or paging horns.

Does the IP-DDS help with ADA compliance?

The combination of scrolling text, audio, and LED flasher supports ADA Title II effective communication requirements for state and local government facilities. Confirm full compliance requirements with your AHJ.

What warranty applies, and where can I get integration help?

AtlasIED covers the IP-DDS with a 60-month warranty from date of purchase. The Creation Networks team can assist with system design, endpoint counts, and notification platform integration before you order.
