Product Overview
The AtlasIED IED1544AIO-D is a 4-input by 4-output mic/line analog pre-amplifier and Dante audio interface that bridges analog sources and destinations onto a Dante network. It converts four balanced analog mic or line inputs into Dante network audio routable in Dante Controller, while its four balanced line outputs convert Dante streams received over the LAN back to analog. Powered entirely by PoE, this Dante I/O module installation requires no local power supply, making it a clean endpoint for distributed audio over IP deployment in commercial buildings, campuses, and mass notification systems.
Product Description

Each of the four inputs on the IED1544AIO-D is independently selectable between line and mic level, and in mic mode each input offers three gain selections with 48V phantom power for condenser microphones — useful when bringing paging stations, wireless receiver outputs, or program sources onto the network at the source location rather than pulling long analog runs back to a rack. The four analog inputs publish to the network as Dante flows (4 inputs across 2 flows, 4 outputs across 2 flows) and are subscribed and routed in Audinate's Dante Controller software like any other device in your AV system integration. Front-panel LEDs report input signal and peak levels, output signal, network connection, network audio traffic, and power, giving technicians at-a-glance status during commissioning and troubleshooting. Audio performance is rated at 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 2 dB) frequency response, 0.06 percent THD at 1 kHz, and 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio, with 2.2k-ohm analog input impedance and 600-ohm balanced outputs. The module draws just 5 watts over a network PoE port or PoE injector, and its compact 1.75-inch by 3.27-inch chassis fits above ceilings, behind displays, or inside equipment enclosures. For GLOBALCOM deployments, note the vendor-documented behavior: in GLOBALCOM GCK systems the IED1544AIO-D operates as a 2x2 I/O device, and in GLOBALCOM EN5400 systems it also operates as 2x2, except that all four outputs can be used when receiving from no more than two distinct sources. A software license is required per AtlasIED's maintenance program.

Key Features
- 4x4 Analog/Dante Conversion — Four balanced mic/line inputs publish to the Dante network while four balanced line outputs return network audio to analog.
- Selectable Mic or Line Input — Each input independently switches between mic and line level to match the connected source.
- 48V Phantom Power with Gain Selection — Mic mode provides three gain settings per input plus phantom power for condenser microphones.
- PoE Powered — A single network connection from a PoE switch port or injector powers the module, eliminating local power requirements.
- Dante Controller Routing — All channel subscriptions are managed in standard Dante Controller software alongside other networked audio devices.
- Comprehensive LED Indicators — Input signal and peak, output signal, network connection, network audio traffic, and power LEDs simplify commissioning.
- High-Fidelity Signal Path — 20 Hz – 20 kHz response, 0.06% THD, and 110 dB SNR keep the conversion transparent.
- Compact Low-Power Chassis — 5-watt draw in a 1.75" x 3.27" x 6.55" footprint fits discreetly at the point of use.
- GLOBALCOM Compatible — Functions as a 2x2 I/O device within GLOBALCOM GCK and EN5400 announcement systems per AtlasIED documentation.
Typical Applications
- Government spaces tying analog paging sources into networked announcement systems
- Auditoriums and all-hands rooms bridging stage or lectern mics onto the Dante network
- Houses of worship routing analog sources between rooms over existing IP infrastructure
- Conference rooms and training rooms feeding local program audio into a campus Dante system
- Multi-purpose rooms needing flexible analog input/output points on a networked audio backbone

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the IED1544AIO-D powered?
Entirely over PoE from a network switch port or PoE injector, drawing 5 watts. No external power supply is needed.
Can I connect microphones directly?
Yes. Each input is selectable to mic level with three gain settings and 48V phantom power for condenser microphones.
How is audio routed on the network?
The four inputs and four outputs appear in Audinate's Dante Controller software, where subscriptions are made to and from any other Dante device on the LAN.
How does it behave in GLOBALCOM systems?
Per AtlasIED, it acts as a 2x2 I/O device in GLOBALCOM GCK systems. In GLOBALCOM EN5400 systems it is also 2x2, except all four outputs can be used if they receive from no more than two distinct sources.
