The Atlas Sound FA-TR8 is a new construction rough-in ring for 8-inch Strategy Series in-ceiling loudspeakers, designed to be installed prior to drywall in wall or ceiling applications. It marks and reserves the speaker location during the construction phase, serving as a cut-out template for drywall contractors and ensuring the correct rough opening is maintained for final speaker and enclosure installation. The FA-TR8 is TAA and BAA compliant and is manufactured in the USA.

Product Description

The FA-TR8 trim ring and rough-in bracket is used in new construction projects where Atlas Sound Strategy Series 8-inch in-ceiling speakers will be installed. The ring attaches to the ceiling or wall structure before drywall is installed, establishing the speaker location early in the construction sequence. Once in place, the ring serves as a pattern for the drywall installer to cut around, leaving a correctly sized and positioned opening. This process eliminates the need to locate pre-wire and calculate cut-out dimensions from scratch at finish-out, reducing both labor time and the risk of misaligned or oversized openings. The FA-TR8 accommodates drywall thicknesses from 3/8" to 1 1/4", covering the range of drywall used in most commercial construction. Mounting holes on the ring are pre-positioned for both 16" and 24" O.C. stud or joist spacing, supporting the most common commercial framing schedules. The ring is constructed of #18 gauge galvanized steel for durability during the construction period. The 25 5/8" overall height accommodates the depth required for the FA97-8 or FA95-8 enclosure or FAPR-8 plaster ring. Note: the FA-TR8 alone does not provide grille installation support; an enclosure or FAPR-8 plaster ring is required for final grille attachment.
