Product Overview

The AtlasIED Atmosphere AZM8 is an 8-zone audio processor that serves as the central control unit of an Atmosphere commercial audio system. Its DSP engine routes six balanced mic/line inputs and four RCA sources to eight balanced zone outputs, handling EQ, dynamics, priority routing, and ambient noise compensation in one 1RU chassis. For commercial AV integrators and system designers, the AZM8 replaces stacks of mixers, routers, and schedulers in multi-zone commercial audio installations. It fits restaurants, offices, schools, retail, and any facility that needs distributed audio with simple end-user control.

Product Description

AtlasIED Atmosphere AZM8 8-zone audio processor

The AZM8 combines powerful DSP I/O processing with practical facility features: a built-in message player, bell scheduler, room combine, virtual wall controllers, learning ambient noise sensing, Tilter Filter, auto-gain, and GPIO. Input processing includes parametric EQ, shelving and notch filters, gating, de-essing, compression, and priority routing; output processing adds speaker tuning EQ presets, ambient noise compression, limiting, and up to 500 ms of delay per zone. A high-priority GPI input integrates the processor with fire alarm and life-safety systems, muting program audio when triggered.

AtlasIED AZM8 rear panel inputs and outputs

For installation and commissioning, the AZM8 is compatible with the Atmosphere accessory ecosystem for control, remote audio input, and ambient noise sensing. Up to 16 plug-and-play accessories connect across four RJ45 accessory ports, each rated for reliable operation up to 1,000 feet, so wall controllers and sensors can be distributed throughout large facilities over standard category cable. Programming runs through a modern onboard web interface built on Progressive Web App technology; it is device agnostic and reachable over Ethernet or the built-in Wi-Fi, and end users get app-less virtual wall controllers via QR code or URL. Control modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI support enterprise AV control system integration. Complete the system with amplifiers and loudspeakers from our AtlasIED collection.

Key Features

  • 8-Zone DSP Processing — Routes six balanced mic/line inputs and four RCA sources to eight balanced outputs with full input and output processing per channel.
  • Onboard Web Interface — Progressive Web App configuration over Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi removes the need for dedicated programming software.
  • Four Accessory Ports — Connect up to 16 Atmosphere wall controllers and sensors over standard cabling, with each port reliable up to 1,000 feet.
  • Built-In Message Player and Bell Scheduler — Scheduled announcements and bells serve schools, offices, and retail without external playback hardware.
  • Room Combine — Combine or divide zones on demand for divisible meeting rooms and multi-purpose spaces.
  • Auto Noise Compensation — Learning ambient noise sensing adjusts levels automatically so paging and music stay intelligible as crowds change.
  • High-Priority GPI Alarm Input — Integrates with life-safety systems to override or mute audio during alarm events.
  • Speaker Tuning Presets — A large library of AtlasIED loudspeaker presets shortens commissioning time for integrators.
  • Third-Party Control — Control modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI simplify integration into existing AV control systems.
  • 1RU Rack Mount — Standard 19-inch rack form factor with rack ears keeps the equipment room footprint small.
