Product Overview

The AtlasIED ASP-MG2240 is a two-zone amplified sound masking system with onboard DSP, built to deliver speech privacy in open offices, medical facilities, and conference areas from a single 1RU device. It combines two channels of 70.7V amplification, dual independent analog masking generators with EQ, a 24/7 scheduler, and paging and background music inputs — covering a single masking zone up to 7,000 sq ft or two independent 3,500 sq ft zones. For integrators specifying an office sound masking installation without the complexity of a networked masking platform, the ASP-MG2240 is a self-contained, software-configurable solution.

Product Description

The ASP-MG2240 packs the core of a commercial speech privacy system into a compact half-rack-width chassis. Two separate analog masking generators — with both white and pink noise sources — feed two internal 70.7V amplifier channels, allowing each zone to be contoured independently with EQ, high- and low-pass filters, and output limiting. PC control software makes configuration fast: AtlasIED ships the unit with industry-leading preconfigured presets based on proprietary Chanaud Masking Filters, tuned for common and advanced sound masking applications, and settings can be stored in the unit or backed up on the PC for recall.

Beyond masking, the ASP-MG2240 doubles as a distributed audio hub. A balanced mic/line input handles paging with a high-Q feedback filter tailored to the vocal range, while a 3.5mm auxiliary input carries background music; each input has its own selectable 5-band EQ, high/low-pass filters, and limiter to protect against system overdrive. An assignable balanced line output extends the signal to additional amplifiers in larger deployments.

For conference room speech privacy and HIPAA-oriented medical office privacy programs, the Speech Privacy Enhancement mode raises masking by an adjustable +/-12 dB at the press of a switch, and optional Speech Privacy Enhancement signs connect to the unit to indicate visually when a room is secure. Commissioning is simplified by the patent-pending Push Here Diagnostic (PHD) test: once speakers are connected, one button verifies the speaker lines for shorts and confirms that connected tap settings do not exceed the amplifier's rated power — a meaningful time saver on 70V sound masking speaker installation. The system covers 50 Hz to 15 kHz, uses Class D amplification, and carries RoHS, WEEE, and TUV certifications.

Key Features

  • Two-Zone Amplified Masking — Dual internal 70.7V amplifier channels cover one 7,000 sq ft zone or two independent 3,500 sq ft zones.
  • Dual Analog Masking Generators — Separate white and pink noise generators with per-zone EQ let each space be contoured independently.
  • Chanaud Masking Filter Presets — Factory presets based on proprietary Chanaud filters shorten commissioning for common masking scenarios.
  • Speech Privacy Enhancement Mode — A switch-activated +/-12 dB adjustable boost secures conference rooms and medical offices on demand, with optional indicator signs.
  • Paging and BGM Inputs — Balanced mic/line and auxiliary inputs each include 5-band EQ, filters, and limiters, with a vocal-range feedback filter for paging.
  • Onboard DSP with PC Software — EQ, high/low-pass filters, limiting, and a 24/7 scheduler are configured through intuitive control software with file backup.
  • Push Here Diagnostic (PHD) — The patent-pending one-button test checks speaker lines for shorts and verifies tap loading against amplifier capacity.
  • Assignable Balanced Line Output — The line out feeds downstream amplifiers for expansion into larger masked areas.
  • Compact 1RU Form Factor — The half-rack-width chassis fits credenza racks, IT closets, and shallow wall cabinets.

Typical Applications

  • Conference rooms and boardrooms requiring on-demand speech privacy
  • Commercial meeting spaces and open-plan offices
  • Government spaces handling confidential conversations
  • Huddle rooms adjacent to open work areas
  • Multi-purpose rooms combining masking, paging, and background audio

Frequently Asked Questions

How large an area can the ASP-MG2240 mask?
It covers a single zone up to 7,000 sq ft or can be split into two independent zones of 3,500 sq ft each, with separate generator and EQ settings per zone.

Does it support HIPAA speech privacy requirements?
The Speech Privacy Enhancement mode is designed to help medical offices and conference rooms meet federal HIPAA speech privacy standards, with an adjustable +/-12 dB boost and optional connected privacy indicator signs.

Can it also handle paging and background music?
Yes. The balanced mic/line input supports paging with a vocal-range feedback filter, and the auxiliary input carries background music; both have independent 5-band EQ and limiters.

What speakers does it drive?
The two internal amplifier channels operate at 70.7V constant voltage, compatible with standard 70V ceiling and plenum masking speakers. The PHD diagnostic verifies your tap settings and wiring after installation.

How is the system configured?
Configuration runs through PC control software over USB, with preconfigured Chanaud-filter masking presets that can be selected and modified. Settings store in the unit or on the PC for backup and recall.

Is the unit network controllable?
No. The ASP-MG2240 is configured via PC software rather than Ethernet, which keeps it off the corporate network and simplifies IT review.

What warranty and support are included?
AtlasIED warrants the unit for 36 months from date of purchase. For zone layout and speaker count assistance, contact Creation Networks at creationnetworks.net.
