Product Description
The 81-8R bridges the T-bar grid in standard 24" x 24" suspended ceiling systems and transfers load to the building's overhead support rather than the ceiling tile itself. The round cutout is sized for 8-inch speakers and is specifically designed to match the industry-standard Atlas Sound 95 Series back boxes and baffles. Construction is 22-gauge cold-rolled steel with an electrogalvanized rust-resistant finish, providing long service life in commercial building environments. The bridge spans 23-5/8" in width, fitting standard grid spacing, while the 14-1/8" height provides adequate clearance for speaker assembly hardware. Compatible baffles include the 51-8, 60-8(W), 61-8W, 62-8, 63-8, 67-8(W), 68-8W, 170-8, M222(W), and P900 series. The load-bearing design eliminates the tile sag common when speaker weight rests directly on ceiling tile material. Installation does not require ceiling penetration or structural modifications beyond placing the bridge across the T-bar runners.
