Product Overview
The Atlas Sound 61-8W is a decorative steel speaker baffle designed to accept standard 8" (203 mm) loudspeakers in commercial ceiling installations. Finished in textured white with a two-piece welded CRS construction, it is UL Listed (UL 1480) and BAA/TAA compliant, making it suitable for both commercial and government facility audio projects. The concealed speaker mounting stud design creates a clean, grille-only appearance that integrates discreetly into suspended ceiling environments.
Product Description
The 61-8W baffle uses a two-piece welded cold-rolled steel construction consisting of a 20-gauge trim ring and a 22-gauge perforated grille, delivering both structural rigidity and adequate acoustic transparency. The textured white powder-coat finish matches standard commercial ceiling tile and drywall surfaces, allowing the baffle to blend naturally into installed environments. Concealed loudspeaker mounting studs eliminate visible hardware on the face of the baffle, providing a finished, professional appearance after installation. The 12 3/4" overall diameter fits standard 8" speaker cutouts in ceiling tiles and drywall. Companion enclosures and mounting rings are available from AtlasIED for tile bridge and blind-mount applications, providing installation flexibility across ceiling types. The 61-8W is UL Listed to 1480 and optionally available with Atlas's hydrophobic environmental treatment coating for environments with elevated humidity. A 60-month warranty supports long-term deployment in commercial facilities such as corporate offices, healthcare facilities, educational buildings, and hospitality venues.
