Product Overview
The AtlasIED 312-15 is a 12 RU, 19-inch wide-opening stand-alone wall cabinet from the 300 Series, built for wall mount rack installation of network gear, amplifiers, and AV head-end equipment where floor space is limited. Its three-section welded steel construction — solid front door, 15-inch deep center section with adjustable rails, and hinged rear door — gives technicians full front and rear access to mounted equipment. For IT closets, classrooms, and commercial AV equipment rack deployments, the 312-15 protects electronics in a secure, ventilated enclosure that meets BAA and TAA sourcing requirements for government projects.
Product Description

The 312-15 is fabricated from 16-gauge cold-rolled steel in three sections: a 2-inch deep solid-steel front door, a 15-inch deep center section with adjustable front rack rails, and a 4.5-inch deep rear door, all finished in #962 black epoxy. The adjustable rails are tapped 10-32 and manufactured to standard EIA half-inch spacing, accommodating any 19-inch rackmount equipment installation. Internal open raceways provide cable pathways through the cabinet, while corner brace supports on the hinge side include 1.25-inch diameter wire access holes for harnessing excess cable — practical structured cabling management for network rack installation in the field. The rear section's back face carries quarter-inch deep boss detents on 12-inch centers (four on this 12 RU model), giving contractors the flexibility to install a custom plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate for mounting power strips, surge protection, or accessories inside the cabinet. Twenty conduit knockouts — arrays of 1-inch standard and 1/2-inch / 3/4-inch concentric openings at the top and bottom of the back panel and flanges — simplify conduit entry during commercial AV installation. Perforated vents on both sides of the center section provide passive ventilation for rack-mounted electronics. Structurally, the cabinet uses reinforced frame flanges, plug-welded center section joints, corner-brace supports, and electric-welded seams and miters. An 11-gauge center section guide plate distributes equipment weight to the rear section, reduces sag, and guides alignment pins home so a fully loaded center section closes properly every time.

Key Features
- 12 RU of EIA-Standard Rack Space — Adjustable 10-32 tapped rails at standard half-inch EIA spacing fit any 19-inch rackmount equipment.
- 15-Inch Deep Center Section — Accommodates deeper amplifiers, switches, and AV processors than shallow wall racks.
- Three-Section Wide-Opening Design — Solid steel front door, swing-out center section, and rear door give complete service access without removing equipment.
- 16-Gauge Welded Steel Construction — Reinforced frame flanges, corner braces, and electric-welded seams support fully loaded equipment over the long term.
- Center Section Guide Plate — An 11-gauge guide plate transfers equipment weight to the rear section and prevents sag on a loaded cabinet.
- Cable Management Built In — Internal open raceways and 1.25-inch wire access holes keep structured cabling organized.
- 20 Conduit Knockouts — Standard and concentric knockout arrays at the top and bottom speed conduit terminations during installation.
- Passive Ventilation — Perforated vents on both sides of the center section dissipate heat from rack-mounted electronics.
- Contractor Sub-Plate Provisions — Boss detents on 12-inch centers accept custom plywood, aluminum, or steel mounting plates.
- BAA and TAA Compliant — Meets Buy American Act and Trade Agreements Act sourcing requirements for federal and government installations.
Typical Applications
- Government spaces requiring BAA/TAA-compliant equipment enclosures
- Conference room and boardroom AV head-end equipment
- Training rooms and multi-purpose rooms with wall-mounted control and amplification gear
- Houses of worship securing amplifiers and network equipment near the platform
- Commercial meeting spaces where floor-standing racks are impractical

Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment fits in the 312-15?
Any standard 19-inch rackmount gear up to 12 RU total, with a 15-inch deep center section that handles most commercial amplifiers, network switches, and AV processors.
How is rear access handled?
The three-section design includes a hinged 4.5-inch deep rear door and a swing-out center section, so technicians can reach rear connections without unracking equipment.
Can I mount accessories inside the cabinet?
Yes. Boss detents on the rear panel (12-inch centers, four on this model) accept a contractor-supplied plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate for power strips and accessories.
How does cable enter the cabinet?
Twenty conduit knockouts in standard 1-inch and concentric 1/2" / 3/4" sizes are arrayed at the top and bottom of the back panel and flanges, with internal raceways and wire access holes for routing.
Is it ventilated?
Perforated vents on both sides of the center section provide passive heat dissipation; plan active cooling separately for high-heat loads.
Is it suitable for government projects?
Yes. The 312-15 is BAA and TAA compliant, making it eligible for federal and government procurement requirements.
What warranty applies?
AtlasIED warrants the cabinet for 60 months from date of purchase, and Creation Networks supports your rack and enclosure selection before and after the sale.
