Product Overview

The Atlas Sound 310-15 is a 10RU wall-mount equipment rack cabinet built for commercial AV installation where floor space is limited and rack-mounted gear must stay secure and accessible. Its 15" deep center section with adjustable 10-32 rack rails accepts standard 19" network and audio equipment, making it a practical choice for IDF closets, classroom head-ends, and small equipment rooms. As part of the AtlasIED 300 Series, the 310-15 combines welded 16-gauge steel construction with integrated wire management and passive ventilation. It is BAA and TAA compliant, which simplifies procurement for government and education projects.

Product Description

The 310-15 wall cabinet is built from three 16-gauge cold-rolled steel sections: a 2" deep solid-steel front door, a 15" deep center mounting section, and a 4-1/2" deep rear door. The adjustable front rack rails are tapped 10-32 and manufactured to standard EIA 1/2" spacing, giving integrators flexibility when mounting amplifiers, network switches, and signal processing equipment of varying depths. This stand-alone wall rack design keeps AV equipment off the floor and out of the way in commercial deployments where dedicated rack rooms are not available.

Cable management is handled by internal open raceways that create clean pathways inside the cabinet, while 1-1/4" diameter wire access holes in the corner brace supports let installers harness excess cable. The rear section includes 20 conduit knockouts arranged at the top and bottom of the back panel and on the top and bottom flanges, with both 1" standard and 1/2"/3/4" concentric sizes to suit common electrical rough-in requirements. Boss detents on 12" centers (four on this 10RU model) allow contractors to field-install a custom plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate for mounting accessories inside the cabinet. Perforated vents on both sides of the center section provide passive heat dissipation for rack-mounted electronics. Structural integrity comes from reinforced frame flanges, plug-welded center section panels, corner brace supports, and electric-welded seams and miters, plus an 11-gauge center section guide plate that distributes equipment weight to the rear section and prevents sagging. The cabinet is finished in #962 black epoxy and backed by a 60-month AtlasIED warranty.

Key Features

  • 10RU Capacity in a Wall-Mount Footprint — Mounts standard 19" rack equipment on the wall, preserving floor space in classrooms, retail back rooms, and equipment closets.
  • Adjustable 10-32 Rack Rails — Front rails adjust in depth and follow standard EIA 1/2" spacing, accommodating equipment of different chassis depths.
  • 15" Deep Center Section — Provides usable mounting depth for amplifiers, network switches, and AV control processors.
  • 16-Gauge CRS Welded Construction — Reinforced frame flanges, corner braces, and electric-welded seams keep heavy equipment loads stable.
  • 20 Conduit Knockouts — Standard 1" and concentric 1/2"/3/4" knockouts on the rear panel and flanges simplify electrical and low-voltage rough-in.
  • Integrated Wire Management — Internal open raceways and 1-1/4" wire access holes keep cabling organized and serviceable.
  • Passive Ventilation — Perforated vents on both sides of the center section dissipate heat from rack-mounted electronics without fans.
  • Field-Customizable Rear Panel — Boss detents on 12" centers support installation of a custom sub-plate for mounting accessories.
  • BAA/TAA Compliant — Eligible for federal, state, and education procurement programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will standard 19" rack equipment fit in the 310-15?
Yes. The cabinet provides a 19" wide opening with adjustable rack rails tapped 10-32 at standard EIA 1/2" spacing, so any standard rack-mount equipment up to roughly 15" deep will mount directly.

How does the cabinet handle equipment heat?
Perforated vents on both sides of the center section provide passive convection cooling. For higher heat loads, plan equipment spacing with vented blank panels as part of your AV system integration.

Can I run conduit into this wall rack?
Yes. The rear section includes 20 conduit knockouts — 1" standard and 1/2"/3/4" concentric — located on the back panel and the top and bottom flanges.

Does the center section open for rear access?
Yes. The three-section design allows the center section to swing open, and an 11-gauge guide plate supports the loaded section so it closes and aligns properly. An optional CT31A heavy-duty caster is available for very heavy loads.

Is the 310-15 suitable for government projects?
Yes. It is BAA and TAA compliant, making it eligible for most federal and state procurement requirements.

What warranty applies?
AtlasIED covers the 310-15 for 60 months from the date of purchase. Creation Networks supports you through the warranty process — contact our team with questions before or after installation.
