Product Description
The 164-8A features a square loudspeaker cutout that accommodates 8" drivers, offering a clean and finished look upon installation. A separate speaker mounting plate is included that provides extended, no-leak bass response by creating a proper acoustic seal around the driver. The protective screen on the face of the baffle incorporates large perforations, which simplify repainting to match interior color requirements without compromising acoustic transparency. The unit is finished in a textured white epoxy coating that is durable and consistent with standard commercial interior finishes. The beveled edge profile adds a low-profile, professional appearance that integrates well with both drop tile and drywall ceiling surfaces. At only 1/2" deep, the baffle adds minimal ceiling penetration depth and is suitable for shallow plenum spaces. The 164-8A is compatible with AtlasIED's optional HydroFobic moisture-resistant environmental treatment coating, extending its use into humid or light-exposure installations.
