Product Overview
The Ashly TRA-2150 is a 2-channel convection-cooled transformer-isolated power amplifier delivering 150W per channel at 4 ohms, 80W at 8 ohms, and 150W per channel across 25V, 70V, and 100V constant-voltage outputs. As part of the Ashly TRA convection-cooled amplifier series, the TRA-2150 is designed for commercial paging and background music (BGM) installations requiring transformer-isolated constant-voltage distribution without fan noise. Its fully convection-cooled design makes it appropriate for quiet environments including boardrooms, courtrooms, conference rooms, and government spaces.
Product Description
The Ashly TRA-2150 transformer-isolated constant-voltage amplifier provides 2-channel output with internally mounted output transformers for 25V, 70V, and 100V constant-voltage lines. Both channels can drive 4 or 8 ohm low-impedance loads simultaneously with the constant-voltage outputs, giving the installer flexibility to mix speaker types on the same amplifier. The switch-mode power supply combined with Class-D amplifier circuitry delivers an energy-efficient solution in a 2U convection-cooled chassis. With no fans, the TRA-2150 requires little maintenance after installation and produces no fan noise—a critical consideration for permanently installed systems in occupied spaces. A 6-step LED level meter for each channel allows real-time monitoring of signal levels. All audio controls are on the rear panel, keeping the front panel clean. Rear-panel controls include per-channel level attenuators, a gain switch (+36 dB or +26 dB input sensitivity), and selectable input sensitivity via Euroblock connectors. A remote standby control and adjustable turn-on delay (up to 8 seconds) allow integration with room control systems and protect connected speakers during power-up. Extensive protection circuitry covers output overcurrent, DC output faults, main supply rail overvoltage, in-rush limiting, and a mains fuse. The TRA-2150 is certified to TUV, CE, FCC, and RoHS standards and carries a 5-year warranty.
Key Features
- Convection Cooling (Fanless) — No fan noise in permanently installed quiet environments including boardrooms, courtrooms, and conference rooms.
- Internally Mounted Output Transformers — Transformer-isolated 25V, 70V, and 100V outputs built into the amplifier, no external transformers required.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the TRA-2150 include built-in output transformers?
- Yes. The TRA-2150 has internally mounted output transformers providing transformer-isolated 25V, 70V, and 100V constant-voltage outputs. No external transformers are required.
- Why choose the TRA-2150 over an SRA-2150 for 70V distribution?
- The TRA-2150 provides transformer-isolated constant-voltage outputs (25V, 70V, 100V), which is the correct solution for standard 70V distributed speaker systems. The SRA-2150 operates at low impedance only (4/8 ohm) and cannot drive 70V lines directly.
- Is the TRA-2150 suitable for quiet spaces like boardrooms and courtrooms?
- Yes. The TRA-2150 is fully convection-cooled with no fans, producing no fan noise. This makes it appropriate for noise-sensitive permanent installations in boardrooms, courtrooms, conference rooms, and government facilities.
- Can the TRA-2150 drive both low-impedance and constant-voltage speakers simultaneously?
- Yes. The TRA-2150 can drive 4 or 8 ohm low-impedance loads and 25V or 70V or 100V constant-voltage lines simultaneously, supporting mixed speaker installations on the same amplifier.
- How does the remote standby function on the TRA-2150?
- The TRA-2150 includes a rear-panel remote standby control that accepts a contact closure or low-voltage trigger signal from a room control system, enabling centralized power management without front-panel access.
- What is the turn-on delay for, and how long is it?
- The adjustable turn-on delay (up to 8 seconds) prevents speaker damage from power-up transients when the amplifier is switched on as part of a system. This protects distributed ceiling speakers and paging speakers from potentially harmful transient pulses.
