Product Overview

The Sony VPL-FHZ85 is a 7,300-lumen WUXGA 3LCD laser installation projector built for brightly lit rooms. Sony's Bright View technology prevents washed-out images and colors under strong ambient light, while Reality Creation and Intelligent Settings with Ambiance keep text and images sharp and adapt the picture to room lighting. With sealed, dust-protected optics, automated filter cleaning, a wide lens-shift range, and an interchangeable-lens system, it suits classrooms, meeting rooms, and large venues. This is the white, no-lens model.

Product Description

The VPL-FHZ85 uses a 3LCD laser system at native WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution, outputting 7,300 lumens. Bright View processing maintains contrast and color saturation in strongly lit rooms, Reality Creation enhances lower-resolution sources without adding noise, and Intelligent Settings with Ambiance automatically adjusts brightness, color, cooling, and noise for the environment; a Meeting/Classroom mode holds brightness as high as possible across a usage period. A 1.39–2.23:1 throw ratio, wide vertical lens shift up to +70%, and a quick-release bayonet mount provide installation flexibility with a choice of interchangeable lenses (sold separately). The laser light source is sealed against dust, the 3LCD optical block is filtered, and an automated system cleans the filter every 100 hours. Data Cloning copies settings between projectors via USB, while Auto Input Select and Auto Power On streamline daily operation. Inputs include HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, and an RJ45 Digital Link (HDBaseT), with analog audio input and output. Dynamic contrast ratio and rated laser life should be confirmed against Sony's current spec sheet. The white finish is the only difference from the VPL-FHZ85/B.
