The DM-NVX-E10 has been discontinued by Crestron and replaced by the DM-NVX-E20 — DM NVX 4K60 4:2:0 Network AV Encoder. The DM-NVX-E20 adds 4K60 support (vs 1080p on E10) and HDCP 2.3 (vs HDCP 1.4). For new installations, specify the DM-NVX-E20. Contact Creation Networks for upgrade guidance.
Crestron DM-NVX-E10 – DM NVX 1080p60 4:4:4 Network AV Encoder (Discontinued)
Product Overview
The Crestron DM-NVX-E10 is a 1080p60 4:4:4 AV-over-IP encoder for legacy DM NVX systems — a discontinued product officially replaced by the DM-NVX-E20 for new installations. It accepts HDMI sources up to 1080p60 at 4:4:4 Deep Color and encodes them for distribution over standard 1GbE to DM NVX D10 decoders. Available as a compatible replacement part for existing NVX-E10 deployments only.

DM NVX range: how the models compare
Crestron DM NVX is Crestron's AV-over-IP platform. Instead of running video through a fixed matrix switcher, each source gets an encoder that packetises HDMI onto a standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet network, and each display gets a decoder that unpacks the stream again. Switching becomes a network operation, so the system scales from a few endpoints to a whole campus simply by adding endpoints and switch ports. Some models are dual-role — the same box can be configured as either an encoder or a decoder — and larger deployments add a DM NVX Director appliance to handle virtual switching and stream management.
The DM-NVX-E10 on this page is a first-generation 1080p encoder and is discontinued. Every current DM NVX endpoint is a 4K platform with HDCP 2.3. The table below compares the DM NVX models Creation Networks stocks so you can pick the right generation and role.

Card-format versions of several of these endpoints are also stocked for the DMF-CI-8 card chassis, including the DM-NVX-E30C, DM-NVX-D30C, DM-NVX-360C and DM-NVX-363C, together with the DMF-CI-8 8-slot card chassis. Larger systems add a DM NVX Director virtual switching appliance — DM-NVX-DIR2 or DM-NVX-DIR-ENT for up to 1000 endpoints. Browse the full Crestron DM NVX AV-over-IP range.
Which DM NVX endpoint do I need?
- You are replacing a failed DM-NVX-E10 in an existing 1080p system. Contact Creation Networks — the E10 is discontinued and availability is limited to remaining stock.
- You are specifying a new system and 4K60 with 4:2:0 is enough. Pair the DM-NVX-E20 encoder with the DM-NVX-D20 decoder. This is the direct successor path from E10 / D10.
- You need full 4K60 4:4:4 with HDR — computer graphics, medical imaging, high-detail signage. Use the DM-NVX-E30 encoder and DM-NVX-D30 decoder.
- Your displays have mixed native resolutions and you need the endpoint to scale. Choose a scaling endpoint: DM-NVX-D200, or a dual-role DM-NVX-360 / DM-NVX-363 in decoder mode. The D20, D30, E20 and E30 do not scale.
- You want one part number that can be an encoder in one room and a decoder in another. Specify the dual-role DM-NVX-360. It reconfigures between encoder and decoder in under a minute, which simplifies spares holding across a large estate.
- The system has a Dante audio network, or you need surround-to-stereo downmixing at the endpoint. The DM-NVX-363 is the only endpoint here with native Dante transmit and receive plus downmixing.
- You are bringing a legacy DM 8G+ / HDBaseT source into an NVX network. The DM-NVX-E760 has a DM input for exactly that.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Crestron DM NVX?
DM NVX is Crestron's AV-over-IP product line. It distributes 4K video, audio, USB and control over a standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet network rather than through a dedicated AV matrix. An encoder takes an HDMI source and streams it onto the network; a decoder pulls a stream off the network and outputs HDMI to a display. Because switching happens on the network, the system scales by adding endpoints and switch ports rather than by replacing a chassis. Endpoints include 802.1X authentication and AES-128 encryption and are powered over Ethernet.
Is the DM-NVX-E10 discontinued?
Yes. Crestron has discontinued the DM-NVX-E10 and replaced it with the DM-NVX-E20. The E20 moves the platform from 1080p60 to 4K60 4:2:0 and from HDCP 1.4 to HDCP 2.3. Specify the E20 for all new installations; the E10 should only be considered as a like-for-like spare in an existing 1080p deployment.
Which DM NVX do I need?
Decide on three axes. First, role: encoder at the source, decoder at the display, or a dual-role DM-NVX-360 / DM-NVX-363 if you want one interchangeable part number. Second, video ceiling: 4K60 4:2:0 (E20 / D20 / D200) is sufficient for video content, while 4K60 4:4:4 with HDR (E30 / D30 / 360 / 363) is needed for fine text, computer graphics and HDR sources. Third, extras: scaling, Dante audio, downmixing, or a DM input for legacy HDBaseT sources.
What replaced the DM-NVX-D10 decoder?
The DM-NVX-D20 is the 4K60 4:2:0 decoder in the current range and is the counterpart to the DM-NVX-E20 encoder, in the same way the D10 was the counterpart to this E10.
Can DM-NVX-E10 stream to a 4K decoder such as the D20 or D30?
Crestron rates the E10 at a maximum of 1080p60 4:4:4 with HDCP 1.4, so any stream it originates is 1080p and is limited by HDCP 1.4 regardless of the decoder at the other end. Mixing generations also means holding two HDCP levels in one system, which complicates protected-content routing. Where an estate is being refreshed, replacing E10 encoders with DM-NVX-E20 or DM-NVX-E30 units is the cleaner outcome. Contact Creation Networks to review a migration plan.
Do I need a DM NVX Director?
Small systems can run without one. A DM NVX Director virtual switching appliance centralises stream and endpoint management as the count grows — the DM-NVX-DIR2 and the 1000-endpoint DM-NVX-DIR-ENT are both stocked. Sizing depends on endpoint count and how the network is segmented; ask us to check the design.
