Product Overview

The Blackmagic Design Cloud Store Mini 8TB is rack-mount network storage for video editing teams that need fast shared access to large media files. Four NVMe M.2 flash cards run in parallel RAID 0 behind a 10G Ethernet connection, making it a high-throughput 10G Ethernet media storage unit for multi-user editing, color, audio post, and VFX. Dropbox-based global sync replicates files between units in different locations so each site works from fast local storage.

Product Description

The Cloud Store Mini consolidates project media into one shared NVMe RAID 0 volume so editors do not need to keep files on local computers. As DaVinci Resolve network storage, it handles large Blackmagic RAW files — up to 12K — and supports multicam editing where several media streams play at once. The 10G Ethernet port and 1G Ethernet port operate together as a two-port network switch, so the 10G port can connect directly to a workstation while the 1G port stays on the existing network. A USB-C port also works as a network connection through a built-in USB-C-to-Ethernet adapter, and is used for settings and updates. Dropbox sync distributes files between multiple units globally, giving each location fast local access even over lower-cost internet links — useful for multi-user video editing storage across distributed teams. An HDMI monitor output shows a live status view with a storage map, speed graphs, sync state, active users, and power. An IEC AC inlet supports all international voltages, and a separate DC input provides power redundancy or battery operation.

Key Features

  • 8TB NVMe flash, RAID 0 — Four 2TB NVMe M.2 cards run in parallel for high sustained throughput under multiple simultaneous users.
  • 10G and 1G Ethernet switch — Two Ethernet ports operate as a built-in switch, allowing direct 10G workstation connection alongside the existing network.
  • Dropbox global sync — Synchronizes files between units in different locations for fast local access at each site.
  • USB-C network connection — A built-in USB-C-to-Ethernet adapter lets a computer connect directly for file access, settings, and updates.
  • HDMI status output — Displays a live storage map, speed graphs, sync status, active users, and power on any connected monitor.
  • Compact rack-mount design — Portable, whisper-quiet chassis suited to edit suites and mobile production carts.
  • Flexible power — IEC AC inlet for all international voltages plus a separate DC input for redundancy or battery use.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio — Shared editing, color, and audio-post storage for multicam and large-format media.
  • House of worship — Central media storage for multicam video teams editing services and events.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it connect to a workstation without a 10G network?
The 10G and 1G ports act as a two-port switch, so you can connect the 10G port directly to a computer and keep the 1G port on your existing network. A USB-C port can also serve as a network connection.

Is it suitable for DaVinci Resolve and multicam editing?
Yes. The NVMe RAID 0 array is designed for shared editing, color, and VFX work, including large Blackmagic RAW files and simultaneous multicam streams.

What protocol does it use for file sharing?
SMB, which is supported on Windows 10/11 and macOS 11.1/12.

How do I monitor its status?
Connect a monitor to the HDMI output to see a live storage map, throughput graphs, sync state, active users, and power status.
