Product Overview

The Ashly NXP4004 is a four-channel networkable power amplifier with integrated Protea DSP, delivering 400 watts per channel across all load configurations — 70V, 100V constant-voltage, and 2, 4, or 8 ohm low-impedance. Unlike the NXP4004D, this model uses analog audio inputs and does not include a Dante option card. The NXP4004 is designed for commercial AV installations where Ethernet-based remote control, onboard Protea DSP processing, and multi-mode output flexibility are needed, but audio transport remains analog. This makes it suitable for system integrators deploying in facilities without a Dante network infrastructure, or where analog audio distribution is already in place. The consistent 400W/ch output simplifies zone capacity planning across mixed-load speaker installations.

Product Description

Ashly NXP4004 four-channel networkable power amplifier with DSP front panel Ashly NXP4004 rear panel showing analog inputs and DSP connections

The Ashly NXP4004 networkable amplifier with DSP commercial install provides the complete Protea DSP feature set in a four-channel rack-mount platform with analog audio inputs. Protea DSP delivers dynamics, parametric EQ, crossover, matrix mixing, delay, metering, and FIR filter support, all configurable remotely via Ashly's Protea NE software over Ethernet. Each of the four channels is independently configurable for 70V or 100V constant-voltage or 2, 4, or 8 ohm low-impedance operation via rear panel DIP switches, giving installers the flexibility to serve mixed-load speaker systems across multiple zones. The 400W/ch output at all load impedances is well-suited to boardroom AV systems, multi-zone corporate meeting spaces, training rooms, and commercial installations where moderate per-zone output is appropriate. A built-in real-time clock with event scheduler automates preset recalls, standby transitions, and power-on delays on programmable daily schedules — useful in corporate and institutional environments with regular operational hours. The Ashly Remote iPad app provides wireless control of DSP parameters over the Ethernet network. Aux preamp line outputs allow additional downstream amplifiers to be driven for system expansion. FIR filter support accepts speaker manufacturer tuning files for precision driver alignment. The Ashly EMS (Energy Management System) provides automatic sleep mode drawing less than 1 watt during idle periods. Neutrik Combo XLR/TRS inputs, speakON speaker outputs, and powerCON AC mains connector provide reliable, professional-grade terminations for permanent commercial installation. The NXP4004 is manufactured in the United States, TAA compliant, and carries a 5-year limited warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the NXP4004 and NXP4004D?
The NXP4004D includes a factory-installed Dante option card for native Dante audio networking over Ethernet. The NXP4004 uses analog audio inputs only — it is identical in DSP capability and amplifier performance but does not support Dante audio transport.
What AV control systems is the NXP4004 compatible with?
The NXP4004 supports Ethernet control via Protea NE software, serial control via Ashly WR-5 and RD-8C remotes, and third-party RS-232 control with the optional INA-1 converter. A Q-SYS plugin for Protea is available.
Can the NXP4004 drive 70V and low-impedance speakers?
Yes. Each of the four channels is independently configurable for 70V, 100V constant-voltage or 2, 4, or 8 ohm low-impedance operation via rear panel DIP switches.
Can the NXP4004 be controlled wirelessly?
Yes. The free Ashly Remote iPad app provides wireless network control of DSP functions including gain, mute, matrix routing, A/B source select, PEQ, and metering.
What is the NXP4004 warranty?
The NXP4004 carries a 5-year limited warranty and is manufactured in Webster, New York, USA. It is TAA compliant and certified RoHS and cTUVus.
Does the NXP4004 have an event scheduler?
Yes. A built-in real-time clock with event scheduler automates preset recalls, standby mode, and power-on delays on daily schedules via PneS software stored in the amplifier.
