Two halves of the same system

Interpretation has an input side and an output side. Lingua interpreter desks are where the interpreter works — listening to the floor, selecting source language, and speaking onto a channel. Unite distributes those channels wirelessly to listeners, who select their language on a receiver or their own device.

Specify both together. A chamber with interpreter booths but no distribution has nowhere for the output to go, and distribution without proper desks produces interpretation nobody wants to listen to.

Booth requirements are regulated

Permanent interpreter booths are governed by ISO standards covering dimensions, sightlines to the speaker, ventilation and acoustic isolation. Those are building requirements as much as AV ones, and they need settling at design stage — a booth that fails on sightlines cannot be fixed with equipment.

Channel planning

Count one channel per target language plus the floor. Relay interpretation, where an interpreter works from another interpreter's output rather than the original, needs additional channels and changes the desk configuration.
