The Adder RMK12-BP is a blanking plate for the Adder RMK12 rackmount kit, used to seal the unused position when only a single module is installed in the dual-slot tray. The RMK12 is a 19-inch 1U rackmount kit for ADDERLink INFINITY 4000 and 3000 series units and the AIM ASP-001 manager, and Adder recommends fitting this RMK12 blanking plate whenever one slot is left empty. Product Description

Rack thermal design depends on air following the intended path — an open slot in a 1U tray lets hot exhaust recirculate to the front of the rack and starves neighboring equipment of cool intake air. The RMK12-BP exists to prevent exactly that when an RMK12 tray carries a single ADDERLink INFINITY unit rather than the pair it can accommodate.

The plate fits either side of the RMK12 tray, so a module can occupy the left or right position with the blank closing the remainder of the 1U face. One installation detail is worth planning for: the outer edge of the blanking plate overlaps the rack ears, so it should be fitted before the tray is bolted in — or the bolts on the blanked side temporarily removed with the tray supported — to seat it correctly. Beyond airflow, the plate gives a single-module installation a finished front panel, which matters in client-facing equipment rooms and audited facilities.
