Bringing the benefits of intelligent video conferencing to hybrid meetings with Crestron

Bringing the benefits of intelligent video conferencing to hybrid meetings with Crestron
Crestron Intelligent video conferencing

It is now possible to add Jabra and Huddly cameras into Crestron Flex video conferencing platform to deliver the intelligent video features and capabilities demanded in today's workplace.

In Rockleigh, New Jersey, October 7, 2021 Crestron, a global leader in workplace technology, has enhanced its Crestron Flex platform with new intelligent video support from partners Jabra® and Huddly® to facilitate equitable and productive meetings whether they are held at the office or from home. In order to ensure everyone in a meeting has an equal seat at the table, businesses have been shifting to a hybrid-first environment in which seamless collaboration between dispersed teams has become a top priority. Today, in this hybrid-first environment every person in the meeting has an equally important role to play.

The advanced audio and visual features of meeting room systems are matched with software innovations from meeting service providers, such as Microsoft Teams® and Zoom Rooms platforms, so that all meeting participants can easily contribute and work productively together during a meeting. This is all tied together by Crestron Flex, which provides space and application-specific devices while providing a consistent user experience across the entire organization. The Crestron Flex platform provides purpose-built devices for every space and application. The ability to standardize on Crestron Flex will ensure that enterprises are able to deliver a successful meeting experience across the office, from the largest board room to rotating hot desks and huddle spaces, as well as easy scalability and support via the Crestron XiO Cloud® remote management software.

"Among the many things we’ve learned as individuals continue to work remotely and return-to-the-office, we’ve learned video conferencing and collaboration are at the heart of the modern workplace." It was evident last week with Google's acquisition of real estate that the corporate office would not disappear, so it is imperative that Crestron improves the overall experience for its employees," said Alex Peras, Crestron's Director of UC & Corporate Development. I am pleased to announce that we have added immediate support for Jabra and Huddly cameras to help build on our mission to ensure an immersive and equitable meeting experience for all participants regardless of where they are in the world.

The Crestron Flex platform now includes intelligent video integration, which enhances video conferencing features, such as:

  • Face-framing and people counting - Intelligent cameras identify each participant in the room and present a single image of each person, as well as the full room view, to ensure that all participants, both local and remote, have an equal seat.

  • Full Room View – Video stitching is an integrated feature that allows for a full 180 degree view of the room, which optimizes small spaces for better video conferencing, ensuring everyone can be seen clearly without compromising social distancing guidelines.

  • Whiteboard Sharing – While whiteboards are a key collaboration tool, when it comes to hybrid meetings, remote participants are often left in the dark because they are unable to see the content on the whiteboard in the room. In addition to extending the functionality and usability of whiteboard collaboration outside the room, Whiteboard Sharing enables participants to view and share content from up to three whiteboards digitally.

  • Analytics – Provide better insight into how your spaces are being used by collecting data and analytics about room utilization, occupancy, and people counting.
