Product Overview
The ZeeVee Z4KDF3UA is a ZyPer4K SDVoE fiber decoder that outputs HDMI 2.0 video and transmits audio over a Dante network, with USB 2.0 extension over 10Gb multimode fiber up to 300 meters. As a Dante AV-over-IP decoder with integrated fiber connectivity and USB, it serves commercial AV installations requiring synchronized 4K video delivery alongside Dante audio distribution — eliminating the need for a separate Dante transmitter at the display endpoint. The unit is managed via the ZyPer Management Platform for video routing, video wall, and multiview configuration.
Product Description
The Z4KDF3UA is a specialized variant in the ZyPer4K decoder family, adding Dante audio transmitter capability to a standard HDMI 2.0 output decoder. It receives ZyPer4K SDVoE streams over 10Gb SFP+ multimode fiber (up to 300m) and outputs video to an HDMI 2.0 display while simultaneously sending audio to a Dante audio network. This is particularly valuable in installations where Dante is the established audio distribution standard and video is distributed separately via SDVoE — such as large conference centers, performing arts facilities, and enterprise campuses with Dante audio infrastructure. The integrated USB 2.0 port enables KVM-over-IP at the display endpoint. ZMP manages all video routing assignments, video wall configurations (up to 15x15), and multiview layouts (up to 19 sources). HDCP 2.2 and AES-128 encryption are standard. RS-232 (9-pin D-sub, 115.2 kbps) and IR (3.5mm) pass-through enable control system integration at the display location. Power consumption is approximately 9W.
Key Features
- HDMI 2.0 Video Output — Delivers decoded 4KP60 4:4:4 video to HDMI displays from the ZyPer4K SDVoE network.
- Dante Audio Transmitter — Sends audio from the decoded stream onto a Dante audio network, integrating with existing Dante infrastructure at the display endpoint.
- USB 2.0 Extension — Enables display-side keyboard, mouse, and peripheral connection to remote source workstations via the SDVoE network.
- 10Gb Multimode Fiber (SFP+) — Fiber connectivity to 300m for long-distance display endpoint deployments.
- Uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 — Full-bandwidth, zero-latency 4K video decode and output.
- Video Wall: 15x15 — Large-format video wall support managed via ZMP.
- Multiview: 19 Sources — Flexible multi-source display layout configurations.
- HDCP 2.2 + AES-128 — Content protection and encrypted network transport.
- RS-232 & IR Pass-Through — Control system integration at the display location.
- ~9W Power Draw — Low consumption for high-density display deployments.
- 3-Year Warranty — ZeeVee standard commercial warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the Dante audio transmitter require a separate Dante license?
- Dante licensing requirements depend on the Dante network configuration and any Dante Controller software in use. Consult ZeeVee and Audinate documentation for Z4KDF3UA-specific Dante licensing details prior to deployment.
- Can the Z4KDF3UA output audio via both Dante and the 3.5mm analog port?
- The unit includes both a Dante audio transmitter and an unbalanced stereo 3.5mm analog audio output. Consult ZeeVee's current firmware documentation for simultaneous output behavior.
- Does Dante audio sync with the HDMI video output?
- The Z4KDF3UA is designed to maintain audio-video synchronization between the Dante audio stream and the HDMI video output. For latency-critical deployments, verify sync performance in your specific network environment with ZeeVee support.
- Is USB extension supported when Dante is active?
- Yes. USB 2.0 extension operates independently of the Dante audio transmitter function. Both can be active simultaneously.
- What Dante-enabled devices can receive audio from this decoder?
- Any Dante-compatible device on the same Dante network — including Dante-enabled amplifiers, DSP processors, and audio interfaces — can receive audio transmitted by the Z4KDF3UA. Device discovery and routing is managed via Audinate's Dante Controller software.
- Is there a copper equivalent of the Z4KDF3UA?
- The Z4KDF3UA is a fiber-only model. For Dante decoder capability over copper, contact ZeeVee to confirm current product availability in the ZyPer4K line.
- Does this decoder require the ZyPer Management Platform?
- Yes. ZMP is required for all video routing, video wall, and multiview configuration. The Dante audio routing is managed separately via Dante Controller software.
