Product Overview

The ZeeVee Z4KDECC3 ZyPer4K HDMI 2.0 Copper Decoder is a full-size SDVoE AV-over-IP decoder that receives uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video streams over a standard 10GbE copper network and outputs them via HDMI 2.0 to local displays or downstream equipment. As the receive endpoint in a ZyPer4K SDVoE system, it works in conjunction with any ZyPer4K encoder to deliver zero-frame latency video to any display in the network, from individual monitors to large-format panels and video walls. This ZeeVee ZyPer4K uncompressed 4K AV-over-IP decoder is the standard copper endpoint for enterprise AV distribution, digital signage, and command center display deployments operating on Cat6a infrastructure up to 100 meters per segment. Routing is managed centrally through the ZyPer Management Platform, enabling flexible any-to-any switching without dedicated matrix hardware.

Product Description

The Z4KDECC3 connects to a 10GbE switched network via RJ45 or SFP+ over Cat6a up to 100 meters and decodes incoming SDVoE streams to HDMI 2.0 output at up to 4K60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and color depths up to 48-bit — preserving the full signal fidelity transported by the encoder. HDCP 2.2 compliance ensures encrypted content passes through the entire chain without compromise. Audio output includes LPCM up to 8 channels over HDMI and an unbalanced 3.5mm stereo analog output for local speakers or audio systems at the display location. RS-232 and IR ports allow control signals injected at the encoder end to be received and executed locally, eliminating the need for separate control wiring to each display location. The secondary 1Gb utility RJ45 provides additional network connectivity for display controllers or local devices. The ZyPer Management Platform (ZMP) handles all routing configuration, video wall layouts up to 15x15, and multiview compositions with up to 19 simultaneous sources — allowing a single operator to redirect any source to any display in real time. This standard model does not include USB; for deployments requiring KVM at the display endpoint, use the Z4KDECC3U. Power consumption is approximately 9W via the locking Neutrik NAC3MPX connector.

Key Features

  • Uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 Output — Decodes and outputs full-fidelity HDMI 2.0 video without compression artifacts for broadcast and visualization applications.
  • Zero-Frame Latency — SDVoE protocol delivers real-time video for control room, live production, and interactive display applications.
  • 10GbE Copper Connectivity — Connects via RJ45 or SFP+ over Cat6a up to 100 meters on standard enterprise switching infrastructure.
  • HDCP 2.2 Compliance — Decrypts and outputs HDCP-protected content to compliant displays.
  • RS-232 and IR Reception — Receives control signals from the encoder end for local display or device control without separate control wiring.
  • 8-Channel LPCM Audio Output — Full multi-channel audio delivered over HDMI to AV receivers or display systems.
  • Video Wall and Multiview — Supports up to 15x15 video wall configurations and 19-source multiview layouts via ZMP.
  • AES-128 and 802.1X Security — Encrypted transport and network authentication for secure AV distribution.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Z4KDECC3 encoder and decoder?
The encoder (Z4KENCC3) connects to the video source and transmits the signal onto the network. The decoder (Z4KDECC3) sits at the display end and receives the stream, outputting it via HDMI. A complete point-to-point connection requires one encoder and one decoder; one encoder can feed multiple decoders via IP multicast.
Does the Z4KDECC3 support KVM?
No. The standard copper decoder does not include a USB port. For KVM-over-IP at the display endpoint, use the Z4KDECC3U which adds USB 2.0 Type A connectivity for peripheral devices.
Can the Z4KDECC3 display content from multiple sources simultaneously?
Yes. When configured as part of a video wall (up to 15x15) or multiview layout (up to 19 sources), each decoder tile displays a portion or scaled view of the assigned sources. ZMP manages all layout configurations.
Does the decoder require a dedicated network port?
The decoder requires a 10GbE network port on a switch that supports IP multicast and jumbo frames. The utility 1Gb RJ45 can be used for management or to provide connectivity to a downstream device such as a display controller.
Is the Z4KDECC3 compatible with all ZyPer4K encoders?
Yes. All ZyPer4K encoders and decoders within the same product generation are fully interoperable, including copper and fiber variants. Routing is configured in ZMP regardless of physical connection type at each endpoint.
What happens to the display if the network connection is interrupted?
If the network connection drops, the decoder will lose the video stream and the display will go blank or show a no-signal state. Redundant network paths can be configured to mitigate single-switch failures in mission-critical installations.
