The USB-EXT-2-REMOTE is the module positioned at the conference table, wall plate, or USB peripheral device location in the USB-EXT-2 signal extension system. USB cameras, speakerphones, USB audio devices, and other USB 2.0 peripherals connect to the USB-EXT-2-REMOTE’s USB-A port(s), and the signal is transmitted over Cat5e or Cat6 to the USB-EXT-2-LOCAL at the AV rack, where the host computer’s USB port provides device power and communication as if the USB device were directly connected. The remote module is powered over the Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the local module — no local power supply is required at the remote end. Sold individually for field replacement when only the remote module has failed, avoiding the cost of purchasing a complete USB-EXT-2 KIT for a single-module replacement.
