The Crestron Saros ICS8T-W-T is an 8-inch in-ceiling subwoofer that adds extended low-frequency reinforcement to Saros 4, 6, and 8-inch full-range ceiling speakers in commercial distributed audio systems. This Crestron Saros in-ceiling subwoofer delivers a tailored 45 Hz to 125 Hz response and a built-in 70V/100V transformer for use on constant-voltage distributed speaker lines. Its plenum-rated metal back can and zero-bezel grille make it well suited to restaurants, retail, and houses of worship. The white textured finish is paintable to blend into the ceiling surface.
Product Description
The Saros ICS8T uses an 8-inch polypropylene woofer with rubber surround and a phase plug, ported through dual front ports for deep, full low-end output. Power handling is 100 Watts program at 8 Ohms, with a usable range down to 35 Hz and a built-in second-order 125 Hz low-pass filter that lets it integrate with full-range Saros speakers without a separate crossover. The integral transformer offers 60W or 120W taps at 70V and 120W at 100V, or it can be set to 8-Ohm bypass for low-impedance systems. Best performance is achieved with a biamplified system using a dedicated subwoofer amplifier channel.
Installation is handled with four integral two-step toggle clamps that accommodate ceiling surfaces up to 2.4 inches thick, an 11-5/16 inch recommended cutout, and an included tile bridge for drop-tile ceilings. The plenum-rated zinc-plated steel back can with top and side conduit knockouts meets the requirements for installation in environmental air-handling spaces, and the magnetically held frameless grille installs with no tools and includes a safety tether.
