PlenumVault® Direct View Systems are complete AV systems for classrooms that have flat panel displays. They deliver an excellent experience for students and instructors, providing enhanced audio and video quality for in-person, hybrid, and remote learning environments. Various AV control interface, AV signal extension, speakers, mounting hardware, and cable options are available to create a customized classroom AV solution. Advanced audio capabilities include integrated amplifier, audio input mixing, and line level outputs for remote learning or assistive listening. Add a VoiceLift® Pro Microphone so students hear the instructor clearly throughout the room. Integration with GlobalViewer® Campus Communication Suite adds bells, public address announcements, and intercom communications over the network.
Easy-to-use AV Room Control
The PVCA 452 has built-in control capabilities that simplify AV integration for learning spaces. Ethernet, RS-232, IR, serial, digital I/O, and eBUS® ports, plus CEC capability are available to control and interface with other equipment in the classroom. With several user interface options available, you can accommodate a broad variety of system designs. The eBUS button panel included in the standard PlenumVault Direct View System simplifies AV system operation and features backlit buttons that make it easy to use in low-light environments. Presenters with little or no training can learn to operate the system with ease. It replaces traditional handheld IR remotes that are easily lost or stolen and eliminates the need for battery replacement.
Advanced Audio Capabilities
At the heart of each system is the PVCA 452, which offers sophisticated audio capabilities. The integrated 50 watt audio amplifier drives up to four Extron speakers to fill the room with full, rich sound. The VoiceLift Receiver input simplifies VoiceLift Pro Microphone integration. The PVCA 452 can mix audio from the microphone system as well as additional audio sources, allowing instructors to narrate over AV lesson presentations, add music, and perform other sophisticated audio management to make AV lessons more engaging. A line level output allows system audio to be used for remote learning or assistive listening. Audio file playback allows the system to play pre-recorded audio announcements stored in memory.
The PlenumVault Direct View System also integrates with our exclusive patented Flat Field® speakers. Flat Field technology allows these speakers to reduce beaming of mid and high frequencies directly beneath, delivering consistent sound levels across the listening area to each student.
Features
- Complete AV system with audio amplification and display control designed for instructional spaces that include flat panel displays — This system includes the PVCA 452 Controller Amplifier, which provides audio amplification and built-in control capabilities tailored to enable easy integration of AV automation and audio functionality in environments with flat panel displays.
- Built-in control processor provides flexible AV control options and supports a variety of user interfaces — Offers a range of control ports and supports several types of user interfaces, including TouchLink® Pro touchpanels, Network Button Panels, and eBUS button panels that allow users to control the room’s AV equipment from an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
- Audio input mixing — The PVCA 452 can mix multiple audio sources. This includes voice reinforcement audio from the VLR 302 VoiceLift Pro microphone system and program audio from analog and digital sources. Program audio can be connected via TOSLINK optical fiber, HDMI ARC, and auxiliary line audio. Instructors can narrate over AV lesson presentations, add music, and perform other sophisticated audio management to make AV lessons more engaging and relevant.
- Supports video resolutions up to 4K
- Supports VoiceLift Pro microphones — Works with VoiceLift Pro Pendant and Handheld microphones, allowing voices to be evenly distributed throughout the room. The pendant microphone allows instructors to be heard clearly while eliminating voice strain. The handheld microphone is ideal for use as a pass around mic for student presentations or as a secondary mic for team teaching. VoiceLift Pro uses digital transmission and pairing in a dedicated spectrum to provide superior performance over traditional systems.
- Optional signal extension for video, audio, and control up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a shielded CATx cable — A DTP twisted pair transmitter and receiver can be added to extend signals over a single, shielded twisted pair cable, providing high reliability and optimum performance while making installation easy and cost-effective.
- Integrates with GlobalViewer Campus Communication Suite — GlobalViewer Campus Communication Suite is the modern, simple way to implement bells, public address announcements, and intercom communications throughout campus over the network from an intuitive web browser interface.
- Supports ShareLink® Pro Wired and Wireless Presentation Systems — ShareLink Pro 500 and ShareLink Pro 1100 let users present content from BYOD laptops, tablets, and smartphones on the flat panel display for easy content sharing and collaborative learning.
- Page sensor port — Allows connection of a priority page sensor that detects announcements coming over public address speakers and mutes the PVCA 452 audio output to ensure the classroom AV does not compete with important PA messages
- Fixed and variable line level outputs — The fixed output is ideal for recording devices, remote learning applications, or other equipment such as ALS - assistive listening systems. The variable output is designed to drive a power amplifier.
- Powerful, integrated 50 watt, two-channel amplifier — Outputs 50 watts, 25 watts rms per channel, at either 4 or 8 ohm speaker connections. This allows for a streamlined installation and plenty of power to drive speakers to fill typical-size classrooms with full, rich sound.
- Receive program audio from the display over the same HDMI cable as video using ARC - Audio Return Channel — ARC allows transfer of audio from the flat panel display back to the PVCA 452 using the same HDMI connection that feeds video to the display. This eliminates the need for a separate cable to get audio from the display back to the PVCA 452, allowing users to play audio through the Extron-exclusive patented Flat Field® speakers in the system rather than the flat panel display's speakers.
- Supports LinkLicense® — Extron LinkLicense unlocks features that add convenience, expand system functionality, and enhance the capabilities of Extron products. LinkLicense for Audio Streaming enables the PVCA 452 to directly decode and play GlobalViewer Campus Communication Suite PA announcements and bell audio through classroom speakers, while LinkLicense for User Interfaces allows a mobile device or computer to function as the system’s primary control interface.
- Supports Ethernet-controllable devices — Allows control of multiple Ethernet-enabled AV devices such as displays, switchers, and sources.
- Vast library of Pro Series Ethernet device drivers for use with Extron Global Configurator® software — Start and execute projects quickly using Extron Global Configurator device drivers to control various Ethernet-enabled display and source devices.
- CEC - Consumer Electronics Control capability — Standard, built-in CEC commands can be triggered to control displays or other AV devices connected over HDMI. The ability to control specific functions, such as power on/off, input selection, or volume level, is dependent on implementation by the device manufacturer.
- Easy setup and configuration using Extron software — Conveniently configure the system using Global Configurator Plus and Professional, Toolbelt, and PCS Product Configuration Software.
- Supports 802.1X Authentication — Supports the IEEE 802.1X authentication standard for port-based Network Access Control to enhance network security.
- Unique PVM 220 PlenumVault Mounting Kit with PVDV 101 package — Securely mounts and conceals system components in the plenum space above a suspended ceiling.
- ZipClip® 400 mounting capability with PVDV 101Z package — Equipment can be easily mounted behind the flat panel display.
