JBL VTX B18 – Arrayable Single 18-Inch Subwoofer

The JBL VTX B18 is a next-generation single 18-inch subwoofer engineered for maximum low-frequency performance in professional touring, rental, and installed sound applications. Designed to complement JBL’s VTX full-range loudspeakers, the B18 is built around JBL’s advanced 2288H 18-inch transducer. This driver features Differential Drive® dual voice coil, dual-gap technology, delivering improved linearity, higher sensitivity, extended excursion, and reduced distortion compared to conventional single-coil designs. The result is clean, powerful, and controlled bass response across a wide dynamic range.

To further enhance performance, the VTX B18 incorporates JBL’s patented Slip Stream™ double-flared exponential ports, which optimize airflow and reduce turbulence even under extreme operating conditions. This ensures greater output efficiency and minimizes port noise, making the B18 capable of delivering consistent and transparent low-frequency energy for large-scale live events.

The B18 is designed with flexibility and ease of deployment in mind. Its built-in, spring-loaded two-point rigging system allows for arrays of up to 16 subwoofers, configured in either omnidirectional or cardioid modes. Front and rear NL4 connectors simplify cable management, while an integrated channel-selection switch reduces wiring complexity. Mechanically compatible with the VTX A8, the B18 can be seamlessly combined in flown or ground-stacked systems.

With its rugged Finnish birch plywood enclosure, reinforced Black DuraFlex™ finish, and six recessed handles, the B18 is built to endure the demands of touring. Fully integrated into JBL’s prediction and control software and compatible with Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers, the VTX B18 is a powerful, reliable, and versatile subwoofer solution for professional audio systems worldwide.
