Product Overview
The Shure A15LA is an in-line line adapter that provides 50 dB of attenuation, allowing a balanced line-level source to be connected to a balanced microphone input. It lets AV integrators feed a microphone-level input — on a mixer, wireless transmitter, or DSP — from a line-level device without overloading the preamp. This is a common requirement when interfacing playback equipment, assistive-listening feeds, or other line sources into a microphone channel in a commercial install.
Product Description
The A15LA drops the level of a balanced line source by 50 dB, bringing it down to the range a microphone input expects and preventing the distortion that results when a hot line signal hits a mic preamp. Because the conversion happens in-line on the XLR run, no separate DI or rack device is needed, which simplifies integration when a line source must share a microphone input or feed a body-pack transmitter for distribution. Integrators use the A15LA in conference rooms, broadcast facilities, and houses of worship wherever a line-level feed has to enter the microphone-level domain cleanly. The passive design requires no power and can stay permanently in the signal path.
