The KK 205 (nickel) was developed by Neumann alongside the KK 204 specifically for the Sennheiser SKM 2000 and Digital 9000 Series wireless systems, with design priorities of enhanced pop and handling noise suppression, extremely low self-noise, and field serviceability. The supercardioid polar pattern maintains consistent uniformity across the full frequency range through Neumann’s single polar pattern design, providing the highest degree of isolation from side and rear sources while still offering a generous sweet spot in front of the microphone. Sensitivity is 2.8 mV/Pa ± 1 dB at 1 kHz with a frequency range of 40 Hz–20 kHz. Integrated expanded-pore foam pop protection shields the condenser element from moisture and plosive energy.
