Product Overview

The RGB Spectrum MediaWall V 500-4K is a true 4K video wall processor engineered for command centers, control rooms, and high-resolution visualization environments where many live sources must be displayed across a multi-screen array. This rack-mount video wall processor accepts up to 18 HDMI inputs and drives up to six 4K outputs (or twelve HD/2K outputs), with every source fully scalable to any window on the wall. Built on an embedded, hardware-based architecture, it provides real-time processing with no dropped frames and full HDCP copy protection for protected content. It is a strong fit for integrators specifying a 4K UHD video wall system for government, security, and enterprise deployments.

Product Description

The MediaWall V 500-4K occupies a compact 3RU chassis and forms the processing core of a command center video wall processor system. Its hybrid architecture pairs the reliability of dedicated hardware processing with an intuitive, web-based control interface, so operators can position and scale windows using drag-and-drop layout tools from a local or remote workstation. Sources can be sized anywhere on the wall, placed across screen boundaries in any aspect ratio, and zoomed to emphasize detail, while preset recall and signal switching remain fast and repeatable.

As a multi-window display processor, the Model 500 supports up to 32 scalable windows and routes any input to any window, making it well suited to surveillance walls, network operations, and live monitoring. The processor displays live video, connected applications, and IP decodes side by side, and supports up to 60 preset layouts for shift changes and scenario-based views. Edge-blend overlap and bezel compensation let it drive tiled LCD arrays, LED video walls, and projector-based displays with accurate geometry.

For commercial deployment, the MediaWall V integrates with RGB Spectrum's MultiPoint control room management platform (sold separately) to add arbitrated keyboard and mouse (KVM) control across system resources, and it can be operated by third-party control systems already present in the rack. Its embedded operating system helps prevent external tampering, an important consideration for government and security installations. For projects that require higher input density or output counts, the Model 550 chassis extends the same platform, and Creation Networks can scope the right configuration for your wall. Key Features

  • True 4K I/O — Processes resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and UHD 3840 x 2160, so 4K sources reach the wall without downscaling.
  • High input density — Accepts up to 18 HDMI 1.4b inputs in the Model 500 chassis for monitoring many sources at once.
  • Flexible output configuration — Drives up to six 4K outputs plus two auxiliary outputs, or twelve HD/2K outputs plus two auxiliary outputs.
  • Fully scalable windows — Supports up to 32 windows that can be sized and positioned anywhere, including across screen boundaries.
  • Embedded architecture — A hardware-based design resists external tampering and runs without the vulnerabilities of a general-purpose PC.
  • HDCP copy protection — Displays HDCP-protected content for sources that require it.
  • Web-based control — A browser GUI provides drag-and-drop layout, preset recall, and both local and remote access.
  • Preset layouts — Stores up to 60 presets for fast recall during shift changes or evolving scenarios.
  • Edge-blend and bezel compensation — Aligns imagery across projector blends and tiled displays for accurate geometry.
  • Rack-mount form factor — A 3RU chassis with strain-relief cable management installs cleanly into a standard equipment rack.

Typical Applications

  • Command and control centers — Security operations centers, emergency operations centers, and SCADA monitoring rooms.
  • Government space — Defense, public safety, and agency facilities requiring embedded-architecture security.
  • Broadcast studio — Live source monitoring and multi-window production review.
  • Auditorium — Large-venue presentations and projector-based blended displays.
  • Training room — Simulation, modeling, and instructional visualization across multiple screens.
  • Multi-purpose room — Flexible meeting and visualization spaces that switch between layouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sources and displays is the MediaWall V 500-4K compatible with?
The Model 500 accepts up to 18 HDMI 1.4b inputs across resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 4K (4096 x 2160 @ 24Hz / 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz) and outputs to HDMI displays, with an optional DisplayPort output and an optional accessory for 4K 60Hz. It supports HDCP-protected sources.

How many displays and windows can it drive?
In the 4K output configuration it drives up to six 4K outputs plus two auxiliary outputs (or twelve HD/2K outputs plus two auxiliary), and it presents up to 32 fully scalable windows that can cross screen boundaries.

How is it installed and mounted?
It ships in a 3RU rack-mount chassis (5.25 x 19.0 x 22.0 in) with a strain-relief cable management bar and an 850W auto-ranging power supply, so it integrates into a standard 19-inch equipment rack. Creation Networks offers design and integration services for full video wall builds.

How does it integrate with an existing AV or control system?
The processor is controlled over a web-based GUI, RS-232, or Ethernet TCP/IP, and works with third-party control systems. It is also compatible with RGB Spectrum's MultiPoint control room management platform (sold separately) for KVM control across resources.

Is it secure enough for government and command center use?
Yes. The MediaWall V uses an embedded, hardware-based architecture rather than a general-purpose PC, which helps prevent external tampering and is a common requirement in defense, public safety, and security operations centers.

What is the difference between the Model 500 and Model 550?
The Model 500 is a 3RU chassis supporting up to 18 inputs and 32 windows; the Model 550 is a 6RU chassis that scales to 36 inputs, more outputs, and up to 64 windows on the same platform.

Does it include a warranty and support?
RGB Spectrum products are backed by the manufacturer's warranty. For current warranty terms, extended coverage, and technical support, contact the Creation Networks team at 888-230-3661 or via our contact page.
