The SB-218F uses two custom 800 W, 18-inch transducers developed specifically for cinema use, each with a large 4-inch (101 mm) voice coil and a multi-vented pole piece that keeps the motor cool at high power levels for longer transducer life and reduced power compression. The system covers 37 Hz to 230 Hz for surround bass management.

Heavily braced, tour-grade 15 mm plywood construction provides strength while keeping weight low, and eight built-in M10 fly points allow safe, straightforward overhead suspension. A 4-ohm impedance draws power efficiently from multi-channel cinema amplifiers.
