Product Overview
The Panamax MR4300 surge protector is a rack-mountable 9-outlet power management unit providing AV-grade surge protection, AVM (Automatic Voltage Monitoring), and Level 3 LiFT linear filtration for home theater and commercial AV rack installations. It includes a dedicated 4-outlet high-current bank with low-impedance filtration, signal line protection for LAN, telephone, and cable/satellite connections, and rotating media lights — all at 15A capacity in a compact 1RU-height form factor. The MR4300 is well-suited for AV integrators building out equipment racks that require both Protect or Disconnect surge protection and visual media lighting for component identification.
Product Description
The Panamax MR4300 is a rack-mountable power management unit delivering multiple layers of protection for AV rack systems. AVM (Automatic Voltage Monitoring) continuously monitors incoming line voltage; if voltage drops below 100V or rises above 140V, the MR4300 displays a red lightning bolt alert and automatically disconnects power to all 9 connected outlets, reconnecting when conditions normalize. Protect or Disconnect surge protection handles extreme events — such as lightning-induced surges — by instantly cutting all AC power to connected equipment before the event can damage components, then restoring power once clear.
The 9 outlets are organized into 2 isolated banks: Bank 1 contains the standard filtered outlets (5 outlets), and Bank 2 is a dedicated high-current bank with 4 outlets and low-impedance Level 3 LiFT filtration for amplifiers, subwoofers, and other high-draw equipment. Bank-to-bank noise isolation prevents electrical interference generated by high-current equipment from contaminating the signal path of sensitive audio and video components. All outlet control is through the front-panel power button.
Signal line protection is included for 1 LAN (RJ-45, 10/100/1000bT), 1 telephone line (RJ-11), and 2 coaxial cable/satellite connections. A rotating and dimmable pair of media lights illuminate the equipment bays for identification and servicing. A front-panel USB charger (500mA) and LED voltmeter display are included. The MR4300 ships with an 8-foot captive power cord and rack ears for standard 19-inch rack mounting. It is covered by a 3-year product warranty and $5,000,000 Connected Equipment Protection Policy.

FAQs
Q: How many outlets does the MR4300 have, and is there a high-current bank?
The MR4300 has 9 total outlets across 2 isolated banks. Bank 2 is a dedicated high-current bank with 4 outlets and low-impedance LiFT filtration, designed for amplifiers, subwoofers, and other equipment with high power demands. All 9 outlets are surge protected and filtered.
Q: What does AVM do on the MR4300?
AVM (Automatic Voltage Monitoring) continuously monitors incoming line voltage. If it falls below 100V or rises above 140V, the MR4300 flashes a red warning and automatically disconnects power to all connected equipment. When voltage returns to a safe level, it reconnects automatically, protecting components from damage due to sustained unsafe voltage.
Q: What is Protect or Disconnect?
Protect or Disconnect is Panamax's approach to extreme surge events such as lightning strikes. Rather than absorbing the surge through components that can degrade, the circuit instantly disconnects all AC power to connected equipment until the event clears, then reconnects automatically.
Q: Does the MR4300 include signal line protection?
Yes. The MR4300 includes protection for 1 LAN port (RJ-45, 10/100/1000bT), 1 telephone line (RJ-11), and 2 coaxial cable/satellite connections. All coax protection is bidirectional, with less than 0.5dB insertion loss, and supports signals from 0 MHz to 2.2 GHz.
Q: What are the media lights used for?
The MR4300 includes 2 rotating and dimmable media lights that illuminate the equipment in the rack bay. This helps with component identification and servicing in darker rack environments. Light rotation and dimming can be adjusted to direct illumination as needed.
Q: Is the MR4300 rack-mountable?
Yes. The MR4300 ships with rack ears for standard 19-inch rack installation. Its slim 1.75-inch height profile makes it suitable for compact rack installations.
Q: What warranty and equipment protection does the MR4300 include?
The MR4300 includes a 3-year limited product warranty and a $5,000,000 Lifetime Limited Connected Equipment Protection Policy when purchased from an authorized Panamax internet dealer.
