Product Overview
The Meyer Sound UP-4slim is an ultracompact, self-powered installation loudspeaker built around a slim aluminum enclosure that integrates discreetly into architectural spaces. It uses IntelligentDC technology to receive 48 V DC power and balanced audio over a single Phoenix 5-pin connector, eliminating AC conduit while preserving self-powered performance. Three channels of class D amplification drive two 4-inch cone transducers and a 1-inch metal dome tweeter for high SPL, low distortion, and uniform 100° by 100° coverage. It is well suited to vocal reinforcement, frontfill, and under-balcony fill where an aesthetically refined cabinet is required.
Product Description

The UP-4slim pairs two 4-inch low-frequency cone drivers with a 1-inch metal dome tweeter on a constant-directivity horn, with the woofers working in parallel at low frequencies and one rolling off higher up to maintain constant directivity through the crossover region. A three-channel class D amplifier with integral digital signal processing provides the flat frequency and phase response characteristic of Meyer Sound IntelligentDC loudspeakers, delivering a 65 Hz to 18 kHz operating range and 116.5 dB linear peak SPL. Its amplifier stores DC power and tolerates voltage drops, allowing composite cables such as Belden 1502 to carry both power and audio up to 150 feet with about 1 dB of peak SPL loss using 18 AWG wire. The UP-4slim requires a Meyer Sound IntelligentDC external power supply such as the MPS-482HP or MPS-488X, and a single MM-10ACX can also power one unit. For a wider-coverage two-way alternative, see the Meyer Sound UPM-1XP, and add the Meyer Sound 750-LFC subwoofer for full-range output. Explore the full Meyer Sound collection at Creation Networks.
Key Features
- Slim Aluminum Enclosure — The box-shaped aluminum cabinet measures just 4.29 inches wide and weighs 14 lb for discreet integration into architectural environments.
- IntelligentDC Technology — A single Phoenix 5-pin cable delivers both 48 V DC power and balanced audio, removing the need for AC conduit at each loudspeaker.
- Three-Channel Amplification — An integrated class D amplifier with 500 W peak output and advanced digital signal processing drives each transducer on its own channel.
- Two 4-Inch Drivers and Metal Dome Tweeter — Two 4-inch cone transducers and a 1-inch metal dome tweeter deliver a smooth, wide-band response with low distortion.
- Constant-Directivity Crossover — A unique crossover design rolls one woofer off at higher frequencies to eliminate comb filtering and maintain consistent directivity through the crossover region.
- Wide Symmetrical Coverage — Matched 100° horizontal and 100° vertical coverage allows fewer loudspeakers to cover larger areas.
- Long Cable Runs — The amplifier tolerates voltage drops, supporting light-gauge cabling and runs up to 150 feet with minimal SPL loss.
- M8 Rigging Points — Top and bottom aluminum plates with M8 threads accept the optional MUB-UP-4slim bracket and MYA-UP-4slim yoke.
Typical Applications
- House of Worship — Provides clear vocal reinforcement and frontfill from a slim, visually unobtrusive cabinet in sanctuaries.
- Auditorium — Serves as frontfill or under-balcony fill to maintain intelligibility in seating not covered by the main system.
- Conference Room — Delivers uniform speech reinforcement and program audio from a compact, architecturally discreet loudspeaker.
- Broadcast Studio — Supports installed audio and voice reinforcement where a low-profile, low-distortion loudspeaker is required.
