Product Overview
The Meyer Sound PANTHER-M is a self-powered large-format line array loudspeaker with a 95-degree horizontal pattern, the medium-coverage member of the PANTHER family. Designed for medium- to long-throw coverage in auditoriums, houses of worship, arenas, and touring systems, this Milan AVB line array integrates amplification, processing, and network audio in each cabinet to reduce amplifier-rack infrastructure. With a 55 Hz to 16 kHz range and 150.5 dB maximum sound level, the PANTHER-M delivers high-output line array performance with consistent directional control across a wide listening area.
Product Description

Each PANTHER-M cabinet houses two 12-inch long-excursion low-frequency drivers and two 3-inch diaphragm compression drivers on a computationally optimized high-frequency horn, producing a directional 95-degree pattern that holds at all output levels. Arrays of four or more cabinets functionally create a cardioid polar pattern with no user settings, improving low-mid control in reflective rooms. As a self-powered Milan AVB line array, the PANTHER-M accepts both analog (XLR TOP) and digital (etherCON TOP, Milan-certified AVB) inputs, with loudspeaker telemetry available over the network for commercial monitoring. Its 95-degree pattern makes it the versatile general-purpose choice between the narrower PANTHER-L (80°) and wider PANTHER-W (110°). It pairs with Meyer Sound subwoofers such as the VLFC for extended low end. For smaller-format arrays, see the LEOPARD line array or browse the full Meyer Sound collection.
Key Features
- 95° horizontal coverage — Medium, versatile pattern that balances throw distance and audience width.
- Self-powered design — Onboard amplification and DSP reduce amplifier racks, cabling, and system complexity.
- Milan AVB and analog inputs — Standard etherCON TOP Milan-certified digital input plus XLR TOP analog input for flexible integration.
- 150.5 dB maximum sound level — High-output performance from a compact large-format cabinet.
- Self-forming cardioid arrays — Four-cabinet and longer arrays create a consistent cardioid pattern with no user settings.
- IP55 weather rating — Rated IP55 when connected with Neutrik TOP cabling for outdoor and demanding installations.
- QuickFly rigging — Captive GuideALink end frames with quick-release pins allow 0.5°–9° splay angles for fast, repeatable arrays.
Typical Applications
- Auditorium — Wide, even coverage for performing-arts and presentation auditoriums.
- House of worship — High-intelligibility reinforcement for large worship venues and broadcast services.
- Multi-purpose room — Scalable arrays for arenas, ballrooms, and flexible large-format venues.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PANTHER-M self-powered?
Yes. Each cabinet contains its own amplification and DSP, so no external amplifier racks are required — only AC power (200–240 V AC via powerCON TRUE1 TOP) and an audio feed.
When should I choose PANTHER-M over PANTHER-L or PANTHER-W?
All three share identical electronics, drivers, and a 55 Hz–16 kHz range and differ only in horizontal coverage. PANTHER-M (95°) is the general-purpose choice; choose PANTHER-L (80°) for longer throw or PANTHER-W (110°) for wider audiences.
How does it integrate into a networked AV system?
The PANTHER-M offers a Milan-certified AVB digital input alongside a balanced analog input, is managed with a Galileo GALAXY processor, and is designed in MAPP 3D. Loudspeaker telemetry is available over the network.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. The cabinet is rated IP55 when connected with Neutrik TOP (True Outdoor Protection) cabling, making it suitable for festivals and permanent outdoor installations.
