Product Overview

The Meyer Sound MJF-208 is a compact self-powered stage monitor for vocal and instrument monitoring where stage space and portability are priorities. Its low-profile wedge cabinet slopes 35 degrees from the stage to preserve sight lines, delivering high intelligibility and low-frequency headroom from a single enclosure. Two 8-inch low-frequency drivers and a 3-inch diaphragm compression driver on a 70-degree by 50-degree horn are powered by an onboard three-channel Class D amplifier. This 3-pin input version uses a standard XLR connection for straightforward integration into analog signal chains.

Product Description

Meyer Sound MJF-208 2x8-inch active stage monitor

The MJF-208 brings the intelligibility and headroom of the MJF line to a lighter, more portable cabinet for stages that cannot accommodate larger monitors. Its phase-corrected 55 Hz to 18 kHz response reproduces vocals and instruments accurately with low distortion, and the flat phase and frequency response provides high gain before feedback. The dual 8-inch low-frequency section and 3-inch compression driver on a constant-directivity horn deliver symmetrical 70-degree horizontal by 50-degree vertical coverage, so units need not be purchased in matched pairs for left-right setups. The enclosure is premium multi-ply birch with a textured black finish and rubber base strips to resist vibration-induced movement. For higher output in larger setups, consider the Meyer Sound MJF-210; the full range is available in the Meyer Sound collection.

Key Features

  • Compact Self-Powered Design — Onboard three-channel Class D amplification eliminates external amplifiers and reduces stage and truck space.
  • Low-Profile Cabinet — The wedge enclosure slopes 35 degrees from the stage to preserve audience and performer sight lines.
  • Dual 8-inch Low Frequency — Two 8-inch high-power cone drivers provide extended low-frequency headroom in a small footprint.
  • Constant-Directivity Horn — A 3-inch compression driver on a 70-degree by 50-degree horn delivers symmetrical, controlled coverage.
  • High Gain Before Feedback — Flat phase and frequency response with tight pattern control minimizes interaction with nearby microphones.
  • 3-Pin XLR Input — A standard XLR 3-pin female input with male loop output simplifies analog signal distribution.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium and performing arts stage monitoring
  • Multi-purpose performance rooms
  • House of worship vocal and instrument monitoring
  • Broadcast studio foldback
