Product Overview

The INOGENI 4KX-PLUS is a professional HDMI to USB 3.0 capture card designed for BYOD and BYOM conferencing deployments in commercial meeting spaces. It captures up to 4K UHD video from any HDMI source — cameras, CODECs, or room systems — and presents it as a standard USB webcam device to any connected laptop, with no driver installation required. The 4KX-PLUS is the preferred HDMI USB 3.0 capture card for Cisco Webex BYOM applications, supporting direct integration with Cisco room equipment including camera, audio, and display. With its HDMI loop output, analog audio I/O, and external power supply, it is purpose-built for multi-display commercial AV installations.

Product Description

The INOGENI 4KX-PLUS HDMI to USB 3.0 converter captures uncompressed Ultra HD video and routes it over USB 3.0 to a laptop or soft codec platform — appearing as a standard UVC-compliant USB camera in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, and other conferencing applications. No driver installation is required on Windows, macOS, or Linux. The HDMI loop output allows the video signal to pass through to a display or secondary system simultaneously, preserving existing room infrastructure. Analog audio input and output ports extend flexibility for rooms with dedicated audio systems. An external power supply maintains the HDMI loop connection even when the laptop is disconnected, which is essential for dual-display Cisco Webex room configurations. The Digital Fluid technology buffers frames internally, maximizing frame rate consistency across varying PC performance levels. Hardware-based color space conversion, automatic scaling, and frame rate conversion are handled on-device, offloading processing from the host computer. Image controls for brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue are adjustable through the INOGENI Control App. The 4KX-PLUS carries Zoom certification, is compatible with Barco ClickShare Conference (CX-20, CX-30, CX-50), and is TAA-compliant. It is designed and manufactured in Canada and backed by a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes the 4KX-PLUS different from the 4K2USB3?

A: The 4KX-PLUS includes an HDMI loop output, analog audio I/O, and an external power supply — features required for dual-display Cisco Webex BYOM installations and rooms with dedicated audio infrastructure. The 4K2USB3 is suited for single-display applications without those requirements.

Q: Does the 4KX-PLUS require driver installation?

A: No. The device is UVC-compliant and recognized as a standard USB camera on Windows, macOS, and Linux without any driver installation. It is plug-and-play with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, and any DirectShow-compatible application.

Q: Is the 4KX-PLUS compatible with Cisco Webex room devices?

A: Yes. The 4KX-PLUS is designed for Cisco Webex BYOM deployments. It integrates directly with Cisco room equipment and supports USB Mode macros (Macro 1-3 and Macro 2-2-10) across Cisco Room Kit, CODEC Plus, CODEC Pro, Room 55, Room 70, Sx80, Mx700/800, and other Webex room devices.

Q: What video resolutions does the 4KX-PLUS support?

A: The device captures up to Ultra HD 4K (3840x2160 or 4096x2160) at 30 fps over USB 3.0, and up to 1080p at 60 fps. It also supports 1440p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, 576p, and common computer graphic resolutions. Note: UHD up-scaling is not supported.

Q: Does the HDMI loop output stay active when the laptop is disconnected?

A: Yes. The external power supply maintains the HDMI loop connection to the room display and Cisco Webex CODEC even when no laptop is connected to the USB port — an important consideration for always-on room system installations.

Q: Is the 4KX-PLUS Zoom certified?

A: Yes. The INOGENI 4KX-PLUS carries official Zoom certification for use in Zoom Rooms with HDMI cameras.

Q: Is this product TAA-compliant for government procurement?
