Product Overview

The Draper Premier XL is a large-format, tab-tensioned motorized projection screen built for auditoriums, lecture halls, and other large venues that need a wide, flat image from a wall- or ceiling-mounted electric screen. This 182 3/8" model is configured in Draper's 21:9 ultrawide format, giving integrators an immersive cinemascope aspect ratio for blended content, data visualization, and widescreen video. As a large-format tab-tensioned electric screen, the Premier XL keeps its viewing surface flat across the full image width so projected content stays geometrically accurate from edge to edge. All units ship through Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's standard 5-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Premier XL 21:9 ultrawide projection screen is engineered for integrators specifying an economical yet heavy-duty electric screen for large commercial rooms. Its tab-tensioned design uses a cable-guided tab system on each side to hold the surface taut, delivering the flat image plane that large-format front projection demands. RF-welded tabs create a durable seal that resists separation and stickiness and are warranted against separation for five years. The viewing surface is housed in a fabricated extruded aluminum case with a curved front and L-shaped back/top cover in a black finish, and the image area is fully framed in black with a standard 12" top drop to position the picture correctly in the room. A tubular motor is mounted inside the roller for quiet, instantly reversible operation, with an internal thermal overload protector and electric brake for reliable service in permanent installations. This unit is configured with the Grey XH600V surface for improved contrast in rooms with some ambient light, and the Premier XL supports the full Draper surface range including Matt White XT1000VB, CineFlex, and TecVision ambient-light-rejecting options. For AV system integration, an optional LVC-IV low-voltage controller allows 3-wire connection to third-party control systems such as Crestron, AMX, and Control4, alongside the standard 3-position wall switch. Optional wall or ceiling mounting brackets provide flexibility for surface-mounted deployments, with image width supported up to 16' (488 cm) on this model. Pair the screen with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system, or browse the full Draper projection screen lineup for alternate sizes, formats, and surfaces. Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a tab-tensioned surface important on a screen this large?

On large-format screens, an untensioned surface can wave or curl at the edges, distorting the projected image. The Premier XL uses a cable-guided tab-tensioning system that holds the surface flat across the full width, keeping geometry and focus consistent from edge to edge—critical for wide 21:9 content in auditoriums and large venues.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with the Premier XL?

The screen works with any commercial front projector matched to its 21:9 image size and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact Creation Networks for a throw-distance calculation.

Can this screen integrate with a Crestron or AMX control system?

Yes. In addition to the standard 3-position wall switch, an optional LVC-IV low-voltage controller provides a 3-wire connection for integration with third-party AV control systems such as Crestron, AMX, and Control4.

How is the Premier XL installed?

It is a surface-mounted electric screen that hangs on a wall or ceiling using optional wall or ceiling mounting brackets. The extruded aluminum case conceals the roller and motor, and the image area drops with a standard 12" black top drop for correct placement.

What viewing surfaces are available?

This unit is configured with the Grey XH600V surface. The Premier XL also supports the full Draper surface range, including Matt White XT1000VB, CineFlex, and TecVision ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) surfaces. Contact Creation Networks to confirm surface options for a given size.

What warranty and support are included?

The Premier XL carries Draper's standard 5-year limited warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
