Product Overview

The Draper Acumen XL V is a large-format, surface-mounted, tab-tensioned motorized projection screen engineered for auditoriums, large conference facilities, and all-hands spaces. This 208 3/8" diagonal 21:9 Ultrawide model deploys from a contoured aluminum case and holds a flat image at widths scaling up to 18', making it a strong fit for wide-format presentation and data-heavy content. As a large-venue tab-tensioned screen, it maintains a wave-free surface for accurate edge-to-edge front projection. All units ship through Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's 7-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Acumen XL V large-format projection screen is specified by integrators who need a big-image electric screen that mounts to the wall or ceiling structure without a recessed ceiling pocket. Its extruded-aluminum case measures 9-1/4" high x 8-1/8" deep and is finished in white powder coat, with black available on request, sized to house the longer roller required for large-venue image widths up to 18' (5.5 m). The tab-tensioned surface uses RF-welded tabs and a side-tab cable system to hold the viewing surface flat and dimensionally stable, which is critical at large image sizes where any waviness is visible from the seating area. The image area is fully framed in black with a standard 12" black drop at the top, and this unit is configured with a quiet motor to reduce operating noise during deployment in occupied rooms. Draper's full line of viewing surfaces—including 8K-ready TecVision performance surfaces and rear-projection options—is available for the Acumen XL V, so the surface can be matched to the room's ambient light and projector. The screen ships with a built-in low-voltage controller and wall switch as standard and accepts optional low-voltage control modules such as the LVC-IV for integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or QSC control systems. Both floating mounting brackets and ceiling suspension brackets are included, and a removable fascia allows service access to the roller and motor without dismounting the case. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Acumen XL V ceiling-recessed or surface-mounted?

The Acumen XL V is a surface-mounted screen. It mounts to the wall or ceiling structure using the included floating brackets or ceiling suspension brackets, so no recessed ceiling pocket is required—an advantage in large venues with fixed or hard ceilings.

How large an image does the Acumen XL V support?

The Acumen XL V is a large-format model with a maximum image width up to 18' (5.5 m). This unit is a 208 3/8" diagonal in the 21:9 Ultrawide format. Custom sizes within the model's maximum are available.

Which viewing surface does this configuration use?

Draper's full line of viewing surfaces—including 8K-ready TecVision performance surfaces, ambient-light-rejecting options, and rear-projection surfaces—is available for the Acumen XL V. Contact Creation Networks to confirm the exact surface specified for this order or to select an alternate for your room's ambient light.

Does this screen integrate with commercial AV control systems?

Yes. It ships with a built-in low-voltage controller and wall switch, and accepts an optional LVC-IV low-voltage control module for integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, and similar control platforms.

What projectors and mounts are compatible?

The Acumen XL V pairs with large-venue front projectors matched to its 208 3/8" 21:9 image and the room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

How is the surface kept flat at this size?

The Acumen XL V is tab-tensioned. RF-welded tabs and a side cable system apply lateral tension across the surface, holding it flat and wave-free for accurate front projection—important at large image widths where surface irregularities would otherwise be visible.

What warranty and support are included?

The Acumen XL V carries Draper's 7-year warranty (USA and Canada), supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
