Product Overview

The Draper Acumen E is a surface-mounted, free-hanging motorized projection screen engineered for permanent commercial AV installations. This 94" diagonal 16:10 widescreen model houses the viewing surface in a contoured extruded-aluminum case with a white powder-coat finish, retracting fully out of sight when not in use. As a surface-mounted electric projection screen, it suits conference rooms, training rooms, and multi-purpose spaces that need a clean, permanently installed image surface on a wall or ceiling. All units ship through Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's 7-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Acumen E motorized screen is a non-tensioned, free-hanging electric screen built for heavy commercial use. The 94" 16:10 image area drops from a streamlined 7-1/8" high by 5-7/8" deep aluminum case that mounts to the wall or ceiling using the included floating brackets, giving integrators flexibility during rough-in and final alignment. A removable front fascia provides tool-light access to the roller and motor for service, an advantage in facilities where downtime matters. The screen ships with a built-in low-voltage tubular motor and a wall switch as standard, with a quiet-motor option available for boardrooms and other noise-sensitive rooms. The motor mounts inside the roller, is instantly reversible, and includes factory-set limits, an internal thermal overload protector, and an electric brake for reliable stops at the top and bottom of travel. A black masking drop above the image area is standard, helping position the picture at the correct height for the room. The Acumen E accepts Draper's OptiView family of viewing surfaces, letting you match gain and ambient-light performance to the projector and space. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system. Key Features

  • Surface-mounted, free-hanging design — Mounts to a wall or ceiling and hangs a non-tensioned surface, simplifying installation in commercial rooms without a recessed ceiling pocket.
  • Contoured extruded-aluminum case — A 7-1/8" high by 5-7/8" deep case in white powder coat (black available) conceals the surface and suits finished modern interiors.
  • Floating wall and ceiling brackets — Included brackets allow lateral adjustment during installation and support either wall or ceiling mounting from the same unit.
  • Removable front fascia — The fascia detaches for straightforward access to the roller and motor, reducing service time in permanent installations.
  • Low-voltage motor with wall switch — A built-in low-voltage tubular motor with factory-set limits, thermal overload protection, and an electric brake ships standard, with a quiet-motor option for noise-sensitive rooms.
  • OptiView surface options — Available with Draper's OptiView viewing surfaces to match gain and ambient-light performance to the projector and room.
  • Plenum-rated, UL Listed case — The unit is UL Listed and the case is rated for use in environmental air spaces, supporting code-compliant commercial installs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Acumen E a tensioned or non-tensioned screen?

The Acumen E is a Series E screen, which is free-hanging and non-tensioned. The viewing surface hangs flat under its own weight. If your application requires tab-tensioning for maximum flatness, Draper offers the Series V (Acumen V) as a tab-tensioned alternative.

Can this screen be ceiling-mounted as well as wall-mounted?

Yes. The Acumen E is surface-mounted and ships with floating brackets for both wall and ceiling mounting. It is not a recessed in-ceiling screen; the case remains visible after installation.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with the Acumen E?

It works with any commercial front projector matched to its 94" 16:10 format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

How is the Acumen E controlled and integrated into an AV system?

The screen ships with a built-in low-voltage motor and a wall switch. Additional control options are available to integrate with a broader AV control system. Contact Creation Networks to specify the right control interface for your deployment.

Is the case suitable for plenum air spaces?

Yes. The unit is UL Listed and the case is rated as suitable for use in environmental air (plenum) spaces, which supports code-compliant installation above ceilings and in return-air plenums.

What warranty and support are included?

The Acumen E carries Draper's 7-year manufacturer warranty (USA and Canada), supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
