Product Overview

The Draper Acumen E is a surface-mounted, free-hanging motorized projection screen configured here with an acoustically transparent projection screen surface for commercial rooms where loudspeakers sit behind the image. This 94" diagonal (50" x 80") 16:10 model pairs a contoured aluminum case with the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface, making it a clean fit for conference rooms, boardrooms, and houses of worship that need centered audio from behind the screen. As a Series E screen it is non-tensioned and free-hanging, with a quiet low-voltage motor for acoustically sensitive spaces. All units ship through Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's seven-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Acumen E motorized screen is built for integrators specifying a surface-mounted electric screen with a finished, low-profile case. The streamlined extruded aluminum case measures 7-1/8" high x 5-7/8" deep and ships in a white powder-coat finish as standard, with black available on request. Unlike the tab-tensioned Series V, the Series E surface is non-tensioned and free-hanging, which keeps the mechanism simple and quiet for everyday commercial use. This unit uses the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface, an acoustically transparent woven material with 0.9 gain and a 180° viewing cone; with over 76,000 microscopic openings per square foot, it carries an average insertion loss of just 0.7 dB, so sound from center and surround channels behind the screen passes through without muffling dialogue. Because it is a woven surface, Draper recommends a minimum viewing distance of 10' to keep the weave invisible to the audience. The screen ships with a built-in low-voltage controller and wall switch, and this configuration includes the quiet motor option for boardrooms and worship spaces where operational noise matters. Floating wall and ceiling brackets are included as standard for flexible installation, and the removable fascia allows direct access to the roller and motor for service. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Acumen E tab-tensioned?

No. The Acumen E is a Series E screen, which is non-tensioned and free-hanging. For a tab-tensioned surface that stays flat under tension, Draper's Series V models such as the Acumen V are the tensioned equivalent.

Is the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface fully acoustically transparent?

Yes. The woven surface has over 76,000 microscopic openings per square foot and an average insertion loss of only 0.7 dB, allowing loudspeakers placed behind the screen to project sound through it. Draper recommends seating viewers at least 10' from the screen so the weave stays invisible.

Is the Acumen E surface-mounted or recessed?

It is surface-mounted. The contoured aluminum case installs on the wall or above the ceiling using the included floating wall or ceiling brackets. For a recessed ceiling installation, Draper's Access line is the recessed equivalent.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with the Acumen E?

The screen works with commercial projectors matched to its 94" 16:10 format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

How quiet is the quiet motor option?

This unit is configured with Draper's quiet motor, which reduces operational noise compared to the standard motor. It is well suited to executive boardrooms, worship spaces, and other acoustically sensitive environments where audio fidelity matters.

Can this screen integrate with an AV control system?

Yes. It ships with a built-in low-voltage controller and wall switch, and additional control options are available for integration with commercial AV control and automation platforms. Contact Creation Networks for interface guidance.

What warranty and support are included?

The Acumen E carries Draper's seven-year warranty (USA and Canada) and is UL Listed, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
