Product Overview

The Draper Access XL V is a large-format, ceiling-recessed tab-tensioned projection screen built for large venues that demand a perfectly flat image and complete concealment when retracted. This 248" diagonal HDTV (16:9) model is engineered for ballrooms, conference centers, and large university classrooms where image quality across a wide surface is critical. As a Series V screen, it uses tab-tensioning with RF-welded tabs to hold the viewing surface flat and wrinkle-free, driven by a quiet tubular motor. All units ship through Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's 5-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Access XL V tab-tensioned projection screen is specified by integrators and AV system designers who need large-format front projection with a flat, distortion-free surface. Unlike a free-hanging screen, the Access XL V is tab-tensioned: RF-welded tabs along both edges pull the surface flat and eliminate the ripple and edge curl that can appear on large surfaces, which keeps geometry accurate for detailed content and widescreen video. The RF-welded tabs eliminate stickiness and tab separation and are warranted against separation for five years. The steel case installs during the initial construction phase so the screen can be added later, reducing the risk of job-site damage on long commercial builds. The case measures 10-1/8" high by 9-7/16" deep including the trim flange, and the model supports a maximum image width up to 18' (549 cm), with custom sizes and a 21:9 ultrawide format available. The image area is fully framed in black with a standard 12" (30 cm) black drop at the top of the viewing area for correct image placement. Sliding brackets on top of and inside the case allow the installer to adjust mounting points and accommodate different screen sizes, and a detachable bottom access panel keeps the motor serviceable from below the finished ceiling. The screen ships standard with a 110V tubular motor and 3-position switch, with quiet, low-voltage (LVC-IV), and 220V options for room-control integration, and is offered in Draper's TecVision and standard viewing surfaces including ambient-light-rejecting options. Pair the Access XL V with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a mount from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the large-venue system. Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Access XL V tab-tensioned, and why does it matter?

The Access XL V is a Series V screen that uses tab-tensioning: RF-welded tabs along both edges pull the surface flat and eliminate the ripple and edge curl that can appear on large free-hanging surfaces. This keeps image geometry accurate, which matters for detailed content and widescreen video on a large image.
