Product Overview
The Draper Access XL E is a large-format ceiling-recessed projection screen engineered for concealed installation in large commercial venues. This 295" diagonal NTSC (4:3) model is the large-format version of the Access platform, recessing into the ceiling and lowering a free-hanging surface for auditoriums, ballrooms, and conference centers. Built on Draper's non-tensioned Series E platform, it maintains a flat image through the weight of the surface and a bottom dowel rather than tab-tensioning. This unit ships with a low-voltage LVC-IV motor for integration with third-party control systems.
Product Description
The Draper Access XL E electric projection screen is specified by integrators who need a very large, concealed front-projection surface in a finished ceiling. As a ceiling-recessed motorized screen, the case installs into the ceiling with a trim flange so nothing is visible once the surface retracts. Because this is a Series E free-hanging screen, the viewing surface is non-tensioned and hangs flat under its own weight and the bottom dowel, keeping the mechanism serviceable at large-format sizes. The larger case measures 10-1/8" high x 9-7/16" deep (26 cm x 24 cm) including the trim flange, and maximum image width on the model reaches 20' (610 cm) depending on surface selection. The case can be mounted during construction and wired with quick-connect wiring so the viewing surface is added later to prevent job-site damage. A detachable bottom access panel opens for service and maintenance without removing the case, and sliding brackets on top of and inside the case allow alignment adjustment and accommodate different screen sizes. The white case is standard, with black available on request. This configuration uses a low-voltage LVC-IV motor, and Quiet and 220V options are available for integration with third-party control systems such as Crestron and Control4. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket or lift from our projector mounts and lifts collection. Frequently Asked Questions
- How is the Access XL E different from the standard Access E?
The Access XL E is the large-format version of the Access platform. It uses a larger case (10-1/8" high x 9-7/16" deep) and supports image widths up to 20' (610 cm), versus 16' (488 cm) on the standard Access E, making it suited to auditoriums, ballrooms, and conference centers.
- Is the Access XL E a tab-tensioned screen?
No. It is a Draper Series E screen, which is free-hanging and non-tensioned. The viewing surface hangs flat under its own weight and a bottom dowel rather than using tab-tensioning.
- How is the Access XL E installed?
It is a ceiling-recessed electric screen. The larger case is set into a ceiling pocket with a trim flange, and it can be mounted during construction with quick-connect wiring so the surface is added later to avoid job-site damage.
- What projectors and mounts work with this screen?
It pairs with a commercial front projector with sufficient light output for a large-format 295" NTSC (4:3) image and the room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.
- Can it integrate with a Crestron or Control4 system?
Yes. This configuration includes a low-voltage LVC-IV motor, so integrators can tie the screen into third-party automation systems alongside the standard 110V 3-position switch. Quiet and 220V options are also available.
- What warranty and support are included?
The Access XL E is UL Listed and carries Draper's 5-year manufacturer warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
