Product Overview
The Draper Access V is a motorized, tab-tensioned projection screen for ceiling-recessed installation in commercial AV environments. This configuration covers a 240" NTSC (4:3) image area with the Grey XH600V viewing surface — a grey diffuse material engineered for enhanced image contrast in rooms with significant ambient light. The LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller enables direct integration with Crestron, Control4, Extron, AMX, and other commercial AV platforms. The 4:3 NTSC format accommodates legacy video sources, document cameras, and rooms with mixed-format content. The plenum-rated case is UL-listed for air-handling ceiling spaces.
Product Description
The Access V has been Draper’s benchmark ceiling-recessed motorized screen for commercial AV integrators for over two decades. The “case now, screen later” installation method allows the housing to be set during rough-in and the screen added at finish stage, protecting the surface from jobsite damage. The motor-in-roller assembly drops in via preset latching brackets and pin connectors once the case is in place.
The Grey XH600V surface is specified when the priority is contrast rather than raw brightness. Unlike white matte surfaces, the grey diffuse coating absorbs ambient light from the room while reflecting the projector’s image, improving perceived contrast ratio in spaces with significant uncontrolled ambient light. At 240" diagonal in the NTSC 4:3 format, this screen suits government facilities, training rooms, and multi-purpose spaces with legacy video equipment where ambient light control is limited. Draper’s tab-tensioning system — cut from a single piece and RF-welded — maintains surface flatness and is warranted against separation for five years.
The LVC-IV controller enables low-voltage integration with commercial AV control systems without requiring 110V switching at the control device. The plenum-rated case meets UL requirements for air-handling spaces, and built-in control options can be factory-installed. Custom sizes within the 16’ maximum image width are available from Creation Networks.
Key Features
- Ceiling-recessed concealed design — Screen retracts above the ceiling tile when not in use.
- Case now, screen later installation — Housing installs during rough-in; screen drops in later via preset latching brackets and pin connectors.
- Grey XH600V viewing surface — Grey diffuse material that improves image contrast in rooms with significant ambient light; suited for spaces where a white surface would wash out.
- 240" NTSC (4:3) format — Traditional square aspect ratio for legacy video sources, document cameras, and rooms with mixed-format AV equipment.
- LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller — Direct integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and other commercial AV control platforms.
- Motor-in-roller design — Quiet operation with motor contained within the roller assembly.
- Plenum-rated case — UL-listed as “Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space.”
- 5-year tab tensioning warranty — RF-welded single-piece tabs warranted against separation.
- Bottom access panel — Redesigned hinge for service access without removing the case.
- Quick-connect wiring — Pin-based connections support case rough-in before screen installation.
- White case standard, black available — Suits light and dark ceiling environments.
- Custom sizes available — Within the 16’ (488 cm) maximum image width.
Typical Applications
- Government or military facility with significant ambient light
- Training room with limited lighting control
- University classroom with high ambient light conditions
- Multi-purpose room with variable and uncontrolled overhead lighting
- Renovation project where blackout conditions are not achievable
- Corporate meeting room with fixed overhead lighting

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I specify the Grey XH600V surface instead of a white surface?
The Grey XH600V is the right choice when the room has significant ambient light that cannot be eliminated — fixed overhead lighting, large windows, or skylights that affect image quality on a white screen. The grey diffuse material absorbs ambient light while reflecting the projector output, producing better perceived contrast than a white surface under the same conditions. Requires a projector with adequate lumen output to compensate for the grey surface.
What AV control systems does the LVC-IV support?
Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and most commercial platforms with low-voltage relay or RS-232 outputs. No proprietary gateway required.
Can the case be installed before the screen arrives?
Yes. The case installs during rough-in; the screen drops in later via preset latching brackets and pin connectors.
Is the Access V case plenum-rated?
Yes. UL-listed as “Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space.”
What is the warranty?
One year on the product; five years on tab tensioning. Contact Creation Networks for service support.
Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Within the 16’ (488 cm) maximum image width. Contact Creation Networks for pricing.
