Product Overview

The Draper Access V is a motorized, tab-tensioned projection screen designed for ceiling-recessed installation in commercial AV environments. This configuration features a 240" NTSC (4:3) format image area with a CineFlex White XT700V viewing surface, 110V motor, and the LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller for integration with Crestron, Control4, Extron, AMX, and other third-party AV control systems. The concealed housing keeps the screen fully hidden above the ceiling when not in use, and the plenum-rated case is UL-listed for use in air-handling ceiling spaces — a standard requirement in commercial construction. Image widths up to 16' (488 cm) are supported across the Access V line, with custom sizes available.

Product Description

The Access V has been Draper's benchmark ceiling-recessed motorized screen for commercial AV integrators for over two decades, and the current design reflects ongoing refinement based on field feedback. The "case now, screen later" installation method allows the housing to be set and wired during rough-in, protecting the screen surface from jobsite damage until the room is ready for finish AV work. The motor-in-roller assembly drops in via preset latching roller brackets and electrical pin connectors — installation takes seconds once the case is in place.

The CineFlex White XT700V surface delivers a 0.7 gain with a 180° viewing angle, making it well suited for large conference rooms, training spaces, and auditoriums where the audience spans a wide seating range and ambient light is controlled. Draper's tab-tensioning system — cut from a single piece and RF-welded — maintains surface flatness across the full image area and is warranted against separation for five years. The bottom access panel uses a redesigned hinge that allows it to hang open during service or detach fully for maintenance access without visible fasteners.

The plenum-rated case meets UL requirements for air-handling ceiling spaces. Built-in control options including low voltage, quiet motor, and video interface can be factory-installed in the case. The case accommodates screens up to 20" wider than the standard case length for structural flexibility. Quick-connect wiring enables early case installation with the screen added later. Custom sizes within the 16' maximum image width are available; contact Creation Networks for pricing.

Key Features

  • Ceiling-recessed concealed design — Screen is fully hidden above the ceiling tile when retracted; visible only when deployed.
  • Case now, screen later installation — Housing installs during construction rough-in; screen drops in later via preset latching brackets and pin connectors.
  • CineFlex White XT700V viewing surface — 0.7 gain, 180° viewing angle; optimized for controlled-ambient rooms requiring a wide viewing cone across a large audience area.
  • 240" NTSC (4:3) format — Traditional AV format suited for legacy content, classrooms, and large-format mixed-media presentations.
  • LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller — Direct integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and other commercial AV control platforms via low-voltage signal.
  • Motor-in-roller design — Quiet, smooth operation; motor contained within the roller assembly to minimize mechanical noise.
  • Plenum-rated case — UL-listed as "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space" for commercial construction compliance.
  • 5-year tab tensioning warranty — Single-piece RF-welded tabs warranted against separation for five years.
  • Bottom access panel — Redesigned hinge allows panel to hang open or detach fully for easy maintenance access.
  • Quick-connect wiring — Pin-based electrical connections allow case rough-in before screen installation.
  • White case standard, black available — Accommodates both light and dark ceiling environments.
  • Custom sizes available — Within the 16' (488 cm) maximum image width; contact for pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What AV control systems does the LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller support?
The LVC-IV is compatible with virtually all commercial AV platforms that output low-voltage relay or RS-232 signals, including Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Control4. No proprietary gateway is required.

Can the case be installed before the screen arrives?
Yes. The case installs during construction rough-in and remains empty until finish stage. The screen assembly drops in via preset latching brackets and pin connectors, protecting the surface from jobsite damage.

Is the Access V case plenum-rated?
Yes. The case is UL-listed as "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space," satisfying the plenum-rating requirement in most commercial construction specifications.

What is the CineFlex White XT700V surface best suited for?
The XT700V (0.7 gain, 180° viewing angle) is designed for controlled-ambient-light environments such as conference rooms and training rooms. Its wide viewing cone is ideal when the audience spans a broad seating range.

What is the difference between the standard motor and the LVC-IV option?
The standard motor includes a 110–120V 3-position wall switch. The LVC-IV adds a low-voltage interface for integration with building automation or AV control systems without requiring 110V switching at the control device.

Can the screen be installed in a case wider than the screen itself?
Yes. Screens may be installed in cases up to 20" wider than the standard case length, accommodating structural constraints or unusual ceiling configurations.

What is the warranty?
Draper warrants the Access V for one year against defects in materials and workmanship. Tab tensioning carries a five-year warranty against separation. Contact Creation Networks for service and warranty support.

Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Custom sizes are manufactured to specification within the 16' (488 cm) maximum image width. Contact Creation Networks for pricing.
